so disappointing!!!!

Perfect location surrounded by wonderful countryside - and there the compliments end. The site is tired and past it's best and even accepting all the restrictions posed by Covid is not the usual club standard. The pitches are small, tight and obviously previously belonged to a non caring, for profit organisation. Pitch 40 is an absolute disaster with it's overgrown hedging/nettles/brambles creating added difficulties when filling/emptying water. The showers should be replaced as the water spray heads drench everything within the room. Vehicles have to park across the front of pitches creating a claustrophobic feeling. Closing unisex shower/toilet rooms due to lack of staff is not a solution to an already existing problem as it must be easier to reduce the number of site occupants. Fortunately, we only stayed 5 nights and will not return as this site vies for bottom place on the club network.

Needs Improving

This is the first Caravan and Motorhome Club site we have stayed at that has been disappointing. The main problem is the poor quality toilets and showers. The design of the shower rooms means that the floor is always soaked in water. There are not enough faciities for the size of the site. The allocation of pitches depending on the size of your caravan or motorhome seems a good idea, however, if you are a smaller vehicle then you can be on a small pitch that is not level. The site is listed as having WI-FI but only has a hot spot close to reception. This site needs money spent on it.

Excellent staff

Really enjoyed our stay here last week. Staff very helpful and always ready to stop and chat. We were fortunate to have a pitch at the bottom end of the site. Very tranquil and private although a long way up the hill to the chemical waste point! Lovely walk up the river valley for lunch at the Hare and Hounds in Waytown. Bridport is delightful. I have driven around the bypass many times on my way to Cornwall, but never visited the town. Will definitely be back.

Peaceful

This is the first time we have stayed at this site, and although when we arrived it did look a little rundown we really liked the feel of the place. The Wardens could not have been more helpful, you are shown to your pitch so stops all the driving around trying to decide and agree where to choose!. Toilets are old but they are clean and because the are separate rooms the showers were open. You get lovely views across the countryside and there are lots of walks from the site There are a few negatives points, there is no play area and the road to the site is single track so don’t arrived before 12. We will definitely be returning.

First Visit

This was our first visit to the site and we loved it, lovely warm, friendly informative welcome, the site and road ways are quite narrow so if your not that experienced, take care and take it slow. Shame we had to park the car in front of the van it did spoil the view across the park, smaller toilet and shower blocks could do with updating, very dissapointed that a majority of the guests ignored the covid rules, we are all trying to stay safe so please read your packs and ask if unsure, guests turning up ahead of the time allowed in didn't help as its a long narrow track into the site so unless you can reverse back confidently arrive when your supposed to We would have stayed longer however to due not being able to get enough nights we couldn't

First visit to this site

On arrival staff were very pleasant and helpful. The site is very complicated how it’s set out. Wouldn’t have liked to have driven round it when towing. Our plot was at the bottom no complaints with it very peaceful near brilliant dog walk. I was grateful we were there as top seamed crammed with plots close together. Road on the way down was rubbish and left everyone in a cloud of fish behind us. Position of site great if you have a caravan or tow car. Showers were the poorest I have experienced for a club site. Shower curtain stuck to me every time I turned in shower. Very old very poor. This site could be made beautiful an extra shower block at bottom would be good. Some tarmac on the vehicle areas would be great. Area for water and waste needs upgrading also. I would return to this site if things are upgraded but not until. Motorhome and Caravan Club needs to get there wallet out and get it done.

First visit to Bridport

We arrived on site at Bingham Grange after a long journey and was greeted by Diane with a smile. In error I had booked a pitch with no awning. As it was half term and very busy Diane had managed somehow after re-sorting her planning, to find me a pitch with grass only, fortunately for us the weather was amazing 😉 The pitch itself was not level, as I have always been to sites which were level, so I needed some guidance I went back to Diane and explained, and without any hesitation she called her husband in shining armour) David who immediately came to the pitch and gave assistance on how to level. I must say how professional Diane and David were throughout our stay, a good management team together. The facilities were ok but the individual bathrooms could do with a bit of a refurbishment. The views of the countryside are great, with very nice dog walks and the local pubs if your fit enough to walk it. I drove to Melpash one mile The Half Moon best Sunday Lunch ever (book early) Thank you also to the other Wardens, it was a very pleasant stay and lots and lots to see.

Will we come back again?

Have just come back from staying at our favourite site, we only stayed 3 nights but can see that things have changed (not for the better). We took into consideration Covid has been a very challenging time for businesses but we found the site was not as polished as we have known it to be. We considered ourselves lucky not to be pitched facing onto the one way track system as it was very evident to see everyone getting covered in dust due to using this very busy one way system. We found the dog walk still a wonderful area for our enjoyment and our dog's. The shower facilities showed signs of being dated and worn in all areas, although they were clean. The peacefulness of the site was amazing due to no children which has always been one of the key plus points of the site. I'm not sure the prices were reflective of the standard of the pitches, I didn't think it was value for money I would like to think that we would come back another time and find the old Bingham Grange back to 100%.

How to spoil a lovely caravan park? I know let the Caravan Club buy it.

We have stayed at Bingham Grange many times over the years. There used to be a lovely restaurant, the club in their wisdom have closed it. There is a shortage of toilets and showers and the club have closed some of them as well (I'm aware of Covid). There are two wonderful family shower/toilet facilities, the club have closed them (I got some remark from a staff member that they are waiting for some parts) they were closed last year when we went there. The unisex showers/toilets always have wet floors, so if you need to sit to do your business you get wet trousers. They clean the blocks in the morning, impossible to have a pee before you leave to go home, was told to use the caravan toilet, but of course it's drained down by leaving time. When I mentioned the closures to a member of staff, I was told not to be grumpy, when in fact I should have had an apology. It will be a long time before I go back there. To have a restaurant on site is a great bonus PLEASE OPEN IT.

2nd visit to Bingham Grange

This is our 2nd visit to Bingham Grange, we really enjoyed the location, wildlife, tranquility & the general layout of the site. 2 great pubs within walking distance ( 25 - 45 minutes) River walks from the campsite in amazing countryside. Just right for a relaxing peaceful holiday. Very quite low key site with good facilities, great for adults.
