Good for families

Decent location if you have transport

Attended this site in July 2021 when the weather was absolutely boiling hot. We drove in via Charmouth, so skirted Bridport on the way in, which was easy enough to negotiate - decent roads & signage. We booked a service pitch, which was not great, as all service pitches appeared tight for room. We have a Motorhome, so we were relatively OK, but those with caravans found things tight. Our waste water drain on the pitch was basically on the grass next door to our pitch & at a higher level, so running our waste pipe was a mission. We noticed the Club had a temporary plastic drain pipe to the other sides drain, as clearly there had been issues .......so we used that one. The site is clean & well maintained by the staff - and its actually a nice site to walk around - very green, with some lovely trees & shrubs. The toilet/shower block is very dated, and there are clearly not enough of them - but again, we found them to be clean and well maintained. The reception/shop was useful in that it sold some supplies, drinks and food. The staff were nice and helpful. Location wise - no problem if you have a car or Motorbike. However if you not, then you will struggle to get around. Buses do not appear to be that frequent. We are decent walkers, so we walked into Bridport, then onto West Bay (from the map the site give you) - in total around 5 miles - then of course 5 miles return. The heat made the walk a lot harder, otherwise it would have been OK, as no hills. There is also a nice walk from the site along the River Brit. As been mentioned on here, the dog walk is amazing. All in all a nice stay ...........however, the site toilet/shower block needs a refurb.
