A little Gem

Could only stay one night as on route to Wales. Lovely little site, well kept , had herb planter and you are welcome to help yourselves, a lovely idea. Bus stop outside site . You do get traffic noise , but not that bad as to irritate. Glass of wine 🍷 soon don't notice road . Nice site , friendly wardens Thankyou .

Lovely quiet site

Great spot set in woodland. We only stayed on this site for 2 nights but we were made very welcome. It lies on 2 levels. The bottom one is fairly compact but it did mean we all chatted to each other. The upper area is more open and has great woodland walks leading off it. Great walks on the Downs opposite the site. No toilet/shower block, but not always essential as most caravans have facilities.

Bromyard Downs

Good location for visiting the area, bus stop directly outside campsite gate going to Hereford or Worcester. The sight is off the A44 which must be a good motorbike ride as there are quite amount of bikes over the weekend which you can hear from the site, but only during daylight hours. Lots of areas to go for walks.

Great little site!

We stayed here for the Early May Bank Holiday weekend as our first 2017 trip, arriving Friday afternoon and really enjoyed our stay - it was good to have a grass pitch. A great location for walking, we didn't use the car all the time we were there and walked into Bromyard on the Sunday for lunch. The Brockhampton Estate opposite was really well worth a visit and Cath went for a stroll round the estate before breakfast - a taste of the good life! We would thoroughly recommend this site for anyone looking for a peaceful stay.

Good stop but small pitches

Nice site, good walks for dogs, facilities as they are are good, very neat and tidy, near the road but quiet at night. Being on a bend crossing the road from the site need to be careful. Issue for Motorhomes, we use a 6.4m motorhome and just managed to fit on a hardstanding pitch, the hardstanding pitches are small (very small), some are bigger but obviously more popular. It is impossible to pitch in the traditional manner of car, van, awning and gap, just not possible. The difference in the awning and non awning pitch size is negligible. Grass pitch sizes are better but Motorhomes discouraged from using when we went, although very firm and not sloping. We would stay again as nice site and for us a good location but disappointed by the pitch size.

A lovely low facility site with easy access to Hereford

We stayed on this site for a week a few years ago. Our recent visit was for a one night stopover en route from the north to south of the country avoiding motorways. During our previous visit we had a caravan and a dog so used our car (with the dog) to explore this lovely part of England. There is a nice area for walking, with the dog if you have one, on the opposite side of the main road from the site. If you stay in the lower end of the site, there is some traffic noise, mainly during the morning and evening work runs but we didn't find this intrusive. The relaxed setting of Bromyard Down more than makes up for this. We noticed on this visit that the site has no easy access for filling or emptying Motorhome tanks. This was not a problem for us as we prefer low facility sites. If your preference is for a full facility site with showers/toilet block/veg prep etc. this site is probably not for you. The majority of club sites cater for full facility requirements so it is good to see that there are still a few sites which allow members to use the facilities which they have in their own outfits. We enjoyed the site and won't leave it too long before we go back again.

Our stay in April 2017

A lovely little site, which i think takes about 36 caravans. The Warden and his wife are very helpful and provide a warm welcome. Built in an old Quarry it is a lovely site. There is no toilet block which is reflected in the price. A very peaceful location, a little road noise which does not disturb you. Thoroughly recommend a stay here.

Bromyard Downs Club Site

This site is lovely, the whole experience was very positive for our 3 night stay. We stayed on the top area pitches which were really close to water and waste facilities, we enjoyed very pleasant walks with the dog and enjoyed conversation with other members who knew more about caravanning than we are ever likely to know. It's so easy to nit pick things that are not quite to your liking or fall short of your expectations but I can honestly say that we loved everything about this beautiful site and its surroundings.

BROMYARD DOWNS 2017.

We spent our first trip of 2017 here for 4 nights. The 2017 wardens are very friendly and helpful and were getting the site set up for Easter .It is true that the noise varies from the owls and birds being the only noise to be heard to the trucks and superbikes on the A44.There is plenty of walks over the Downs but unlike an earlier reviewer we found the you could only walk around Brockhampton Court if you were in the National Trust or paid a ridiculous daily fee.The real negative to us is that the Bus Service during the day refuses to take any dogs which means we cannot travel anywhere.

Lovely little site.

We were very lucky to be here in early April, the weather was perfect. The site is very well kept and I made use of the herbs grown by the warden for visitors. It was lovely to wake up to bird song and owls hooting. We knew it was near the road but this didn't bother us at all. Unlike a previous reviewer I think the last thing this site needs is a toilet block, there are plenty of sites with full facilities. Not having one keeps the site quieter. The bus stop at the entrance is really convenient and having the downs across the road too. Lots of lovely places to visit nearby and it was a pleasure to buy local food without going to a supermarket. We understand the lease expires next year, please don't let this pretty little site go!
