Foreign motorhomes

We enjoyed a lovely week on this site which we visit on several occasions , only for it to be spoilt on our last night. A foreign make Motorhome arrived about 6pm & decided to pitch next to us, but instead of going in forwards so their door was facing the other side, they reversed in therefore their door was facing straight onto us invading on our privacy. They then put their 2 dogs onto the grass verge dividing our pitches & put down food for them. Our 2 dogs had been laying outside quite happy until this time. Our dogs did not bark but obviously wanted to get to their dogs food & would not settle for ages. They were English owners so should know better, had we not been going home the following day we would have complained. I think that on arrival the wardens need to ask this question on foreign make caravans & motorhomes so that they park the correct way. Anyone with any sense would know better but clearly not this couple!!

You are allowed to pitch nose in or rear end in no matter what make / nationality of motorhome / caravan so your neighbors were pitching by the rules.

There is absolutely nothing to stop folk with a foreign motor home or van pitching in that way,  it's been made clear several times on here before and I'm afraid you just have to accept that.

However, I think the bigger issue would be using the grass strip for their dogs - they should have been kept within the  bounds of their own pitch, particularly since your two presumably were on yours.

just looked at the site plan map ,it says you can park nose in or nose out ,so the guy was doing nothing wrong

I think the OP is being a bit harsh on the couple

I agree entirely with the OP. I don't understand why the member with the continental layout would want to pitch with doors facing, they are losing their own privacy as well as invading the privacy of their neighbour.  I agree that the site rules don't prohibit this but perhaps they should.

No they should not, in my opinion. You would condemn some MH-ers with U.K. vans to pitching with their lounge area at the back of the pitch in the dark.

I think some people are far too precious about what they perceive as their privacy. Unit doors are going to be at least 6m apart and that’s hardly an invasion of privacy. Get out there and say hello to your neighbours!
