Nice peaceful site BUT, whatch the approach roads

Just got back from a long weekend from this site. Let’s start with shall we say the not so good points. The approach roads up to the site which ever way you go are bad with very narrow and rutted roads. We tow a large 8foot wise Buccaneer Cruiser with a Range Rover and even with the air suspension set to max height, we bottomed the Caravan put a few times. Personally; I wouldn’t attempt to go to this site in a standard car. The wardens advises that they have had members coming here for over 17 years mostly adults, so I get the opinion if you have children I would look elsewhere. The good points; it’s so so peaceful and in a great area to explore the South Coast. But for us, with the size of our outfit plus we have a child, I would go to the Caravan Clubs Battle Main Site.

We are amongst those who use the site regularly & were there last week. Following the prescribed route & driving at an appropriate speed to & from the site when towing, we have never had a problem. The lanes are narrow which is why there is a set route to use when towing to & from the site. The lanes are muddy at the moment, but that is because it has been very wet weather. There is not a playground at the site, but lots of children enjoy being there, there is plenty of space for them to play once the grass has dried out.

I really hope the review left above will not put you off visiting this wonderful club site.
