Beautiful Brora

The most wonderful location with beautiful deserted beach. Just spent another glorious fortnight at this site with our dogs and it never fails to impress. Dedicated and friendly wardens (Carl and Dawn) who are meticulous in maintaining a very clean site and extend every courtesy to guests. Very impressed. The site is getting a little tired (only the shower block that is) but with wardens like these, you hardly notice. Loads of hot water day and night and everything maintained to a very high standard. Cannot thank or praise the wardens highly enough. Regarding previous reviews, we would never dream of taking a television to this location therefore the reception is not an issue for us...surely the object is to try and escape the intrusion of television into our every day lives, and the enjoyment of this particular site is found in the wonderful natural attractions and wildlife? I suppose it's each to their own but I certainly don't see the lack of reception of BBC tv as any kind of drawback. Quite the reverse. Equally, a complaint about the water being "too hot" serves to prove you just simply cannot please everyone all of the time. Yes, the heating boiler broke down and yes the electricity went off for about 45 minutes but that's life. The wardens did everything within their power to rectify the situation almost immediately so can't really ask anything more. What this site offers is a comfortable and elegantly peaceful retreat surrounded by glorious wildlife. Cannot wait to return in July.

Heating problems

Booked in to Brora site early due to conditions on the West Coast. We had booked in before being op informed that heating is shower block was not available. As we are quite elderly it would have been nice to have been advised of this problem as heating at this particular time was required due to very cold conditions. Otherwise all good.

Comment from the Club:

Many thanks for leaving a review and we are so sorry that the heating problems in the toilet blocks impacted your enjoyment of your stay. For future reference, if you experience an issue like this again, please speak to the site staff as they would be more than happy to refund you and book you into the nearest Club site with availability as an alternative to your stay. Please be assured the heating is now fixed and the site staff hope to greet you on site again soon.

Nothing works

This was the second time we have stayed here, the second time we have had the power cut off and the second time there has been no heating in the shower block. It was also the second time the water coming out the taps was scalding, not good if you have a child with learning difficulties. There was no wifi or phone signal on o2 and I was not able to get bbc on the TV. As beautiful as the beach is I don't think we will be going back there then again maybe third time lucky!

Comment from the Club:

Many thanks for leaving a review and we are sorry to hear you did not enjoy your time at the site. The site staff have been in touch as they work hard to ensure that guests have the best possible time staying at Brora and want to clear up any confusion. The hot water taps do run very hot and there are signs up to warn members advising ‘caution hot water’. The power was out for a maximum of half an hour so should hopefully have not disturbed your stay too much but we are sincerely sorry for the inconvenience this caused you. Unfortunately phone and TV signal is beyond our control. We hope that you do decide to return for a third stay as Brora is in such a beautiful location and a great place to get away from it all and enjoy the surrounding countryside and sandy beach.

Gorgeous Sunsets.

A lovely quiet site, excellent dog walks along deserted beaches. Great stop off point on the NC500 tour. Beautiful, well maintained site.

Relax In Peace

We use our motorhome as a base and the awning for our motorbikes, to tour. The location is excellent being near the NC500, and a large beach to stroll on. The site is well laid out and maintained and Its peaceful and relaxing. the town isnt far and has a coop for provisions. Brora site is well suited to tour the Northern Highlands

Small but perfectly formed.

A lovely site tucked away down a side road, adjoining the golf course flanking the sea. Facilitiies are as one would expect from the CC.

A place to wind down

Easy to find but take a wide sweep to the bridge if you have a bigger than average outfit. A lovely site only a few yards away from the quiet beach and a superb village. Plenty of eating places, the local coop store has all you need but it is only a few miles to bigger supermarkets. All facilities are up to club standards and the welcome was as friendly as ever. Taken ill whilst I was there the officials could not have been more flexible or helpful whilst not being invasive.

Beautiful

We had a lovely welcome from the wardens and fell for this site big time. Close to the beach and a lovely golf course, great walk into charming Brora.Think this must be one of the friendliest sites it took so long to go anywhere because everyone wanted to chat GREAT. The site was beautifully kept and very clean, a credit to the hard working wardens, we will be back
