Peaceful setting

This was our first visit to this site but unfortunately it rained for most of the time so we could not appreciate the mountain views! But we could appreciate the views we did see from our 'awning pitch' and it is certainly a place to chill out and clearly there is lots to do near the site. We plan to return to hopefully better weather next year. Thanks to staff for keeping the site in good order and clean.

Excellent site

2nd visit for me and once again, I wasn't disappointed. Incredible location the facilities are excellent and the owners were on hand to give me a very warm welcome. The site is perfect for visiting Glen Coe and especially Loch Etive - the scenery around there is astonishing - will definitely be returning to Bunree again.

Stunning location!

Stayed here for a week and the site is set in what must be the most stunning and picturesque location on the whole club network. Fantastic views across the loch to the Ardnamurchan peninsula and down the loch to Mull. The loch is tidal (sea loch) and there are always boats passing by which add to the interest. When the wind blows it does hit the site easily as it seems to come up the loch and the pitches all seem to drain well (apart from a couple) in the rain (we had lots of both!!). Great walk to the Falls at Inchree and the Ardnamurchan Peninsula is a must, take the Corran ferry and drive to Sanna point and the lighthouse, its beautiful. Neptunes Staircase is close by and worth the visit, as is Glen Coe but there are lots of places to visit so easily fill a week or more. Wardens were friendly and helpful and the site is just so peaceful This is a must to visit and stay at.

Excellent site

Beautiful views of the Loch, very peaceful and quiet with good clean facilities. Drying room for walking clothes came in very handy as rained for the 3 nights we stayed. Oban and Fort William nearby for days out. Would definitely recommend this site for a visit

Disappointing

We've been visiting Bunree for many years but this year we were disappointed. Like earlier reports from Ellie112, Andrew191 and GuyandSue our stay was spoiled by other club members. I suspect we were there at the same time and can only repeat their comments about inconsiderate dog owners who allow their pets to foul the site and by those two large motorhomes with wind-out canopies but also large inflatable windbreaks and flashing lights that obstructed the views of other members pitched behind them. I've also noted the club's response about wind-out canopies and attached sides that become an "awning" - with the size of these two particular motorhomes and their windbreaks the views were even more obstructed than a full awning might have been. If members want to take such accessories to Bunree, then they should be restricted to the pitches away from the loch side.

amazing site and staff

what can I say about this site that hasn't already been said, its a beautiful site with great scenery and great walks and the site staff were so friendly and helpful beyond belief , the local transport links from here leave a bit to be desired but that's not the clubs fault and if your a caravaner it wont affect you at all just us motor homers that don't have a tow car but we managed just fine anyway.

hmmmmm

Bunree is a stunning site with breathtaking views ... if you can see the view ! it clearly says in the brochure , all loch side pitches are non awning, so we booked a pitch with an awning knowing full well we would not be on a loch side pitch, we were on the next row back, so our views were still going to be breathtaking. when we set up, all but 3 non awning pitches had awnings and windbreakers out . why have clubsite rules but not enforce them ? we were told on arrival we must pitch on a white peg, as blue pegs where for non awning pitches ,the wardens are very keen that you park close to that peg, but my god they darent tell any one to put their awnings away. wont be going back here.

Response from the Club:

Many thanks for your review. Wind-out sun-canopies and wind breaks are permissible on a non-awning pitch, however people are not able to put sides onto their wind-outs as it then becomes an awning. We hope this helps clear up any misunderstanding.

An amazing place spoiled by thoughtless dog owners.....!!

This site is in a great spot and everything is well kept and clean. HOWEVER it seems that dog owners are unable to use the provided dog walk and insist on walking their dogs along the front of the site. If you have a loch side pitch you are subjected to dogs doing their business right in front of you while you are eating outside...or urinating on your stuff....both while the owner stands and watches. And it seems the 2m lead rule or even the any lead rule are ignored almost all the time. if you aren't a dog lover then avoid the loch side pitches like the plague. A great place and a great stay ruined by others selfishness and ignorance. Sorry CAMC but it must be said.

Why, oh why?

Stunning! Absolutely beautiful! Amazing! Some of the descriptions used for this gorgeous site. To see the loch and mountains change constantly with the sunlight, mist and clouds is an absolute pleasure. So peaceful too. So what on earth possessed 2 motorhomes and a caravan to arrive, park on the very first row of porches next to the loch and then ruin the atmosphere by erecting huge flagpoles which flashed with coloured lights and also string coloured flashing lights around a windbreak? It looked like Blackpool illuminations! You don’t go to a place of outstanding natural beauty and then ruin it for everyone around you by spoiling the views of the sunsets with artificial distracting lights. Apart from that, this site is in a fabulous location. Perfect for taking the free ferry across the loch and cycling for miles on mainly flat, quiet roads (turn right from the ferry, not left if you want the quietest road). Glencoe is stunning, Fort William has supermarkets & shops and the train station, from where you can take the scenic ride to Mallaig. Toilet block dated but wardens work very hard to keep it clean and tidy, as well as the rest of the site and were very friendly and helpful. All in all, a wonderful place to relax, sit and watch the amazing views, seals and salmon jumping.
