Great site. Excellent wardens

Arrived on the 12th April and first on site. What a welcome we got from Ann and Martyn, so friendly and helpful. Nothing was to much trouble. Love the stock they had in the shop very convenient especially as I forgot to bring something and Ann had it in the shop. Look forward to returning, even if it’s just to say hello again to Ann and Martyn. Keep up the good work great team, even though we didn’t meet all the wardens on our stay,

Post lockdown getaway.

As soon as Boris announced the date we could stay away from home I booked two nights at this lovely site. The site was just the job but it was the wardens Martin and Anne that made all the difference. Welcoming, helpful and friendly. You could tell that the are passionate about their job and enjoy it. We found an excellent circular bike ride from the site taking in lunch at Bourton on the Water and skirting Milton under Wychwood. https://osmaps.ordnancesurvey.co.uk/route/8070558/Burford-Caravan-Bourton-on-the-Water-Shipton-Loop We hope to go back soon - (If Boris will let us ;-) )

Great site

Although we stayed here in October the weather was kind to us. The only downside is the passing traffic on the road which passes the site. What a great location with many good places to visit. We visited the Cotswold Wildlife Park and were very surprised at how good it was, we'd strongly recommend it. There's lots to see there and I particularly liked the large maps at various intervals so you don't get lost (although I did try to lose the wife but was unsuccessful 😂). Like others we did visit Burford, Lechlade and Bourton-On-The-Water. The garden centre is worth a visit if the weather is wet. You can spend hours looking round. Lots of nice (and expensive) things. We nicknamed it the Harrods of garden centres. It'll definitely go on our list of sites we'd go back to.

Friendly Welcoming Site

This was our first ever stay at a caravan and motorhome site. We are complete rookies and had only collected our new motorhome earlier in the day. We are so pleased and grateful that we chose this site as our first destination. After a long and tiring day, we arrived slightly later than planned after the reception had closed. The lady that greeted us couldn't have been kinder or more helpful. It was a flying visit so I can't comment in detail about the site, but from the facilities building and the dog walking area I can say that this is a very well run and maintained site that I can highly recommend. The COVID restrictions look like they have been well thought out and appear to be working well with little inconvenience to the campers. There are two designated dog walking areas with dog bins provided around the site. It was very wet on the night we stayed but the site was quiet, well laid out and we had a very pleasant stay. We left early before the reception area opened but the gate fob system and the exit from the site was simple and worked well. We will definitely be back at some point hopefully when we are more competent and less troublesome guests.

Peaceful stay in the Cortswolds

Our first visit to Burford and we intend to be back. The friendliness of the wardens, from check in to exchanges around the site was exceptional with the extra work and restrictions place upon everybody by the pandemic. We were pleased to find a choice of several hard standing pitches (grass pitches now closed for winter) and even at the weekend the site was not completely full. Felt very health-secure as even the outside water taps were disinfectant wiped several times daily., and 50% of the facilities currently in use within the blocks - still did not have to queue. We walked across into Cotswolds Wildlife Park (booked the day before on line with discount) and also visited Witney, Lechlade and Burford itself. Wow! Up to 3 hours free parking. Would recommend the rather eccentric Wool Museum in Witney (with good restaurant) and the Cotswolds Weavers Barn in nearby Filkins for far more interest than the many blankets! Access to the site is easy with touch-card barriers and the overall impression is space and greenery. Nice to nod off at twilight to the sound of owls hooting!

A wave is worth everything.

Our third visit and the welcome was still as warm as the first. The site is a great place to relax and is beautifully maintained. What made the visit special this time was a wonderful gesture from staff as we set off for a trip out. A simple wave and a genuine smile.

We liked it so much...we went back 7 days later on the way home for more!

Easy to find and access site which is DIRECTLY opposite Cotswolds Wildlife Park (A great day out). The site is laid out like many others. It is mainly open with a clear one way system in place. The pitches were reasonably flat and service points are spread out very well. The playground was great and relatively large. The service block was clean and well maintained. The usual wrist band system in place for C19 and it seemed to work well. There is so much to do in the area that we easily filled 4 days and we have it on our list to return to do more. Very pleased we chose this site. The staff were helpful and friendly and always stopped to chat if we stumbled across them on the site. Thank you for a pleasant couple of stays!

Lovely little site in the cotswolds

I had a lovely overnight stay last week and I'm quite surprised to see these reviews. The site is great, very clean, the covid rules work well in the toilet blocks. There was a fish and chip van as it was Friday, what a great idea if you didn't want to drive into town. We were met at the entrance by a very friendly chatty man who told us all about the site and the area, I checked in at reception and the woman there was very friendly too. I enjoyed the stay , the only downside I would say was the distance from the town, we initially thought we would walk into Burford but the road is too busy so we got a taxi which was recommended by the site warden. Bit pricey at £12 but worth it to go into Burford for a nice meal. I would definitely stay here again.

Late summer break at Burford

Having seen the other reviews regarding the wardens we were on our guard. However, we did not suffer as those reviewers had. I think people should realise the wardens have a difficult time in these troubled COVID-19 times, dealing with our demands and needs. They are putting themselves in the firing line, meeting dozens of strangers day in day out, whilst trying to enforce and abide by all the extra rules and regulations. We all need to be mindful of each other’s circumstances, treat others as you would like to be treated yourself, and we can’t go far wrong. The site is clean and tidy, not over big with a mixture of pitch types, we chose a serviced pitch which made using our own facilities easy. Although, our first night was on a standard pitch and the wardens were helpful with our early morning change. On the whole the weather was Great which always helps when caravanning. The Cotswolds seemed very busy, which can cause issues with social distancing, precautions were often necessary and taken, but this is what we have to do now isn’t it! We have been here before several years ago and I’m sure we will return sometime in the future.

Disappointed

We have had cause to complain to the caravan club for the first time in over 40 years of membership about this site. The outfit on one side was off the pitch marker and so close to us it constituted a fire hazard and broke social distancing. The motor home on the other side felt the need to park the wrong way round so they could sit in the sun with his door facing ours so again breeching social distancing. People were walking through the caravans onto other peoples pitches to get to service points and whilst leaving early on our last day at 7 o clock we observed a person walking her dog through the caravans whcih cocked its leg on someones cable reel. We have been to Burford before and not had problems but we will not be back .
