peaceful, clean but could be better placed

We have just spent 8 days at this lovely site. The site is well set out with a good children's play area, an adequate dog walk and a spotless shower and toilet block. The shop is very handy and the wardens friendly and helpful. We did see some aircraft but it was a pleasure to see the hurricane go over, quite a treat! The Wildlife park across the road is well worth a visit and we could hear the lion and monkeys from the site at times. The only downside from our perspective is that there is nowhere to walk from the site. The statement on the website, 'The Rose and Crown at Shilton just over the crossroads has excellent cask beer and serves top quality food.' We thought was a little misleading, Shilton is over a mile away and there is no footpath at the side of the road even if you wanted to walk there. (although we drove to the pub and it serves excellent food.) The site is a little out on a limb with no public transport. However, the surrounding areas are beautiful and you will be spoilt for choice of where to visit.

Loved this site

We have just returned from a camping trip to Burford Caravan Site.  We were made very welcome by all the wardens who were really friendly and accommodating.  The pitch for our tent was excellent, spacious and in a peaceful location. We were very impressed with the facilities on site, showers and toilets spotlessly clean and a well stocked and reasonably priced shop on site selling a good variety of items including  everything you would need for a BBQ and ice creams which was perfect for the weather at the time.  The site is really well situated for a visit to the Wildlife Park and lots of picturesque villages. We had a really wonderful time and cannot wait to return.

Brilliant Burford

My wife and I have just spent the last 9 days at Burford. The wardens were welcoming, freindly and very helpful. We needed some glycol for our Alde system and they not only found us a local dealer, but phoned them up to check they had stock. Thank you. The site is kept very clean and tidy and very peaceful. Although Brize Norton is close by, the aircraft are infrequent. The Cotswold Wildlife Park is across the road and well worth visiting. We found Witney has a plethora of shops and the villages of Bourton on the Water and Morton in Marsh idyllic.  The Club site shop has papers, ice creams and a variety of other goods. So useful if you just want a quiet and lazy day. Highly recommend this site for young and not quite so young like us. Thank you again for a lovely stay.

Well Done Burford

Just spent a couple of days at Burford. Been motor-caravanning since 1978, this is as good as it gets. Plenty of level hard-standings, spotless and comprehensive facilities, lovely staff, and in the Cotswolds too! Shame there's no pub or public transport, but they are minor limitations. Burford is a nice town with everything you need. I personally don't mind the aircraft noise (we only heard one in two days, and that was a Hurricane!); the pigeons were worse. Congratulations to all the staff, and thank you.

Blissful Burford

Recently spent 9 days here and we found the site near perfect. Really peaceful. Two dog walks and the wildlife park is opposite the site entrance if you want it. The cotswolds are all around you. We needed to visit Didcot, Swindon & Gloucester so found this site in the middle. Toilet block was excellent, so were the wardens who loaned us a caravan step as I stupidly forgot ours. I have to say though that in those 9 days our hard-standing pitch flooded 3 times in inclement weather.

May Spring Bank Holiday

Another excellent week at this lovely site. Chosen by us due to it being close to where our son lives. Very helpful wardens especially the newbies from York. (We northerners have to stick together).. Another visit to the Wildlife Park across from the site too.. we will definitely be returning...(October already booked) I would just also like to thank the friendly neighbours from Cheshire that offered to baby-sit our caravan for a couple of days why we visited our son, pending the arrival of our 1st Grandchild. Thank you..

Lovely family site

We spent a recent bank holiday weekend at this site in the Cotswolds. Nicely laid out, we had a corner pitch with loads of space around, and plenty of trees and greenery. Facilities were faultless although I do agree with a previous reviewer, the commercial (large) wheelie bins aren't attractive on site. Our kids thought the play park was excellent, a nice mix of equipment for a spread of ages and pretty much unlimited space to run around! We walked across to the Cotswold Wildlife park, well worth the money for a great family day out and walking beats queuing up in the car to get in any day, we would definitely return! Overall, a lovely family site.
