Good for families

A regular site for us

Second time this year as its handy for a short break and the location is the best with a decent pub outside the gate and great walks inBurrs Country Park. However I did wonder why the hosepipe has disappeared from the Motorhome service point. . So no hosepipes at all and this is the only site that we visit where this has happened. Only a small point but it does make it difficult and can’t be very expensive to replace It.

To be honest if this was fresh water I would want to know where last that pipe had been inserted and what it was used for. I once witnessed a person washing out a toilet cassette with the supplied pipe. No wonder them have been removed. We carry our own potable water hose now.

If the Club provides a hose at the MV service point it will be for cleaning the tanks only.  If they were to provide a hose for filling up your water tank they would have to constantly disinfect it to ensure you did not get any unwanted germs in your tank.

Think about it...  the hose hangs around in all weathers both cold and hot, bugs can crawl into it leaving their droppings as they go.  No do you really want water that has passed over insect droppings in your cup of tea??

Just be prepared properly and carry a long enough hose to reach from a tap under your van to your filling point just in case the MV service point is in a one-way safety system

The hoses are normally only on the grey water taps at MHSPs so that users can hose down the concrete area to get rid of spillage.

Hoses on fresh water taps were removed years ago for reasons of hygiene.
