No gravel!

We love this site and use it a lot for weekend breaks, as it’s only an hour from home. It’s great for our dog as it’s next to Burrs Country Park-so plenty of space to walk her. The Brown Cow pub next to the site has lovely food and wine is only £10 for any bottle. It’s about 30 mins walk to Bury market where you can buy the famous Bury black pudding and sausages. Our only grump is the standard pitches. Unless you book a fully serviced pitch you are lucky to have a pitch with gravel on it. We’ve noticed over the past 12 months the pitches gradually being depleted of gravel and over grown with clumps of grass and weeds. Especially the pitches to the left of the site close to the dog walking area. Our pitch was particularly bad this time as we arrived in the dark and didn’t notice how poor it was until the morning. It was just mud and puddles as it had rained during the night. I haven’t come across any other club sites where the pitches are so poorly maintained.

Response from the Club:

Many thanks for your review and we are so pleased that you love to stay at this site. Thank you also for your feedback regarding the gravel on pitches. We are pleased to advise we are working through topping up pitches for this season and work is due to start this week, weather dependent.
