A lovely site

This was my first visit to a full facility site since returning to caravanning last year. What a lovely place with friendly, helpful staff and clean, well maintained site & facilities. With the half price mid-week pitch fees it was cheaper than most of the nearby CL's. The site is about a 20 minute very pleasant walk to the edge of Buxton town via Poole's Cavern, then 5-10 mins to the shops etc. via Pavilion Gardens. Walk routes e.g. via Solomon's Temple start right from the site entrance. I look forward to going again soon.

dog wash

Wow fantastic site great for hiking dog walking etc but something is missing on all club sites all we need is a simple dog wash facility recently visited Broadway and the warden has installed an impromptu one brilliant to get the dogs clean after a hard days walking

Stunning Site

This was our first time at Buxton, the location is excellent. An old quarry can be quite a suprising, it is aboslutely lovely. We had an edge pitch an hung a bird feeder in the trees and enjoyed a constant parade of birds feeding. The site is located within a good walk of Buxton through Grinlow Woods. The walk to Solomons Temple is not to arduous with superb views from the top. The site and facilities are very clean and tidy, the staff too are very helpful. All in all, a great location and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

First visit - loved it

Site is clean and tidy; remember to bring your leveling blocks as not all pitches are level. All facilities spotless. Some great walks as easy or hard as you want them. Will revisit in the future

Surprisingly lovely

Staying in a disused quarry may not appeal to everyone but think again. The site is kept immaculate and the walls of the quarry create a natural amphitheatre that shields against the wind and catches the sun. There are lovely walks in every direction. The facilities are spotless. The wardens were exceptionally friendly and helpful. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. Two minor detractions - no pub within easy walking distance and no newspapers to be ordered this weekend. Otherwise a perfect weekend.

Opening Weekend

Arrived early on the first day of the season. Site was spotless and wardens welcoming. Nice location in an old quarry on the edge of a country park. 25 minute walk in to Buxton down through the woods along good level paths. Steep walk back though!! The site has a deal with a local taxi firm which will take you to or from Buxton for £5. They even honoured this at 1am. Will definitely be coming again.
