An OK site

Stayed for 3 nights. Check in was quick but the warden seemed to know very little about the site. We asked for a shaded pitch and was told there were none so took the pitched offered a 'the best one that is left'. Turns out several of the empty pitches were shaded. Would also agree that the showers are poor and the temperature fluctuates depending on who has turns on what tap else where in the toilet block, this needs sorting as at time the water went very hot ( would be concerned about you guys children using them). Site was clean and tidy.,

Not worth paying almost 50% more than a CL.

We stayed here in June for 6 nights after having spent 6 nights on a CL, because we wanted to use a decent shower. What dis-appointment this was, showers run hot and can be adjusted to the desired temp, then run cold, then hot, then cold and so on. Could not get a happy medium on temperature. The water flow is okay but without a proper temperature control it is very uncomfortable. My wife said about it to the wardens who said they knew of this but as it is a design fault they can do nothing until the club can sort it out. The site roadways are all dead-ends, so you have to walk through and chose your pitch before going in, unless you have a motorhome that can turn round. It is about a 10 minute walk to bus stops, so is easy to get into Cambridge. Directions to the site take you away from the direct route but are easy enough to follow, but it is worth looking at Google Earth to see the route.

Typically a very nice club site with immaculate facilities and lovely wardens. There are however a couple of points worth mentioning to other members to take note. The site adjoins an old quarry which occasionally suffers from troublesome teenagers throwing stones over the fences and trees into the site. During our stay a Motorhome suffered from their roof being seriously damaged when one of the rocks broke threw the roof allowing water penetration. Also members parking vehicles on the grass areas next to their pitches using as an extended overflow instead of correctly parking as per club guidelines. Other than these small issues the site is perfect, with wardens helpful, keeping immaculate facilities and hopefully resolving the vandalism with help from the local authorities.

Nice site

Site on different levels nice friendly staff convenient for a bus into Cambridge good put near bus stop food very good value. Site could do with a better dog work. Would use again to get into Cambridge but not one of the club's best sites.

Unexpectedly open

We used this site immediately after the bad snow, when taps were frozen etc. The staff were very helpful and the facilities were fine, what you expect from CMC. It was unexpectedly open because some improvement work had to be re-scheduled, but for us it was absolutely fine. It is also an easy bike ride into Cambridge, or you can get a bus from not far away. There is also a good pub restaurant close by. Train to Ely was also relatively simple, with a 2 mile bike ride to the station.

Prices should be reviewed

A good site which is ideal for visiting Cambridge, easy bus route #3 every 10 minutes. Pub/restaurant opposite bus stop (Robin Hood). Site quite a good standard, showers/facilities very clean. However stayed in April and it worked out at £29.50 / night for just 2 of us, haven't checked to see if this is the cheapest time, but its certainly not peak season yet, so I would be concerned at the pricing for this site, especially if you have a family plus dog.

Work and Pleasure visit to Cambridge

What a fantastic site so close to Cambridge town centre. Very quiet and peaceful, friendly reception and outstanding facilities (hot showers very clean). Our pitch required a longer than normal electric lead but if you normally carry a 25m lead then you will have more than enough. Same for the tv lead. Water and waste facilities were conveniently located around the site. There is a small dog walk on site, however, across the road at the site entrance is access to a very large dog walk which is part of a historic chalk quarry. The local shops are close to the site and there is a Tesco superstore approximately 2 miles away. Recommend the Chinese takeaway to the right of the Tesco express in the village. We used the site as a base for touring the area. Recommend a trip to Sutton Hoo, very dog friendly National Trust site.

Very handy for visiting Cambridge

This site is fairly small and separated into different areas. Pitches are fairly close together but that wasn't a problem when we visited in March because it wasn't full. The shower and toilet block, based on the usual Caravan Club design, was one of the best we've ever been to. It was always spotlessly clean and the shower cubicles had a good drying area with fixed bench. They had Radio 2 playing which I thought was a great idea as often the shower blocks can be so quiet you can hear every sound, if you know what I mean! Very friendly wardens. It's easy to get into Cambridge with the bus stop a short walk away and buses every 10 minutes.

A one night Stopover - Radio - YES

We stayed here whilst visiting friends in Cambridge, then onward for our week tour around East Anglia. It is really handy for visitng Cambridge.. A clean and well kept site. All amenities were clean and tidy. A special mention for the radio in the toilet block - a real plus. We just wish all Club Sites had Radio.

Good city break site. Convenient for Addenbrooke’s Hospital

Retired couple, we spent two weeks on site in February to be close for visiting our son in Addenbrooke’s Hospital (1.5 miles away). Strongly recommend the Club’s road directions are followed on arrival as other local roads are quite narrow and busy. The wardens were very pleasant and extremely helpful - delightful people. The facilities were of the usual high standard we experience on Club sites. Used the washing machine (£4) and drier (£1) during our stay. City bus stops within easy reach and a Tesco superstore one mile away (no fuel station). Despite a little noise in the evening from a nearby sports field, we found the site peaceful and relaxing whilst ideal for visiting the city. Even managed an afternoon punting on The Cam! We would definitely use the site again.
