Great site

Really lovely site for a visit to a beautiful city. Easy frequent bus service into the city. Very clean facilities and good pitches in a quiet area. Only small thing for us in a low long moho is getting in to the site, scraped our bottom a bit so do it slowly!

Very tidy and peaceful site run by a lovely team

Our first stay at this site at the end of August was very successful and enjoyable. Great welcome by the expert team on site and your choice on arrival of available pitches ensures you get the level of grass, hard standing, sun, shade and space to suit your needs. Not much here for families which suits us fine now our kids have grown up, so the peace and quiet is perfect and there are plenty of walks and bike rides to be had in the vicinity. Nice pub restaurant (Robin Hood) in walking distance means you don't have to cook every night, and there is a great chippy and Dominos pizza a little further away if you fancy a guilty treat! The site is beautifully kept, clean & tidy, and all the facilities are in good order, albeit the showers a little old fashioned. WiFi is a bit pricey by comparison, but it worked well most of the time. Useful to know there is a BP garage a short drive away with a cashpoint and Budgens mini supermarket, all open 24 hours. There is also a park & ride a short drive away giving easy access to Cambridge.

Idealic

First night of our honeymoon spent at this lovely site, Diane and Barry , relief wardens, were lovely and went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed our stay. The site was clean , peaceful and picturesque, will definitely be returning to spend more time here. Thankyou Jill and Simon

Return trip to this University City.

Our third visit to this site. A pleasant welcome by the site staff on arrival. As before advised to park up through the barrier and have an exploratory walk around site to see what pitches were available. On selecting our choice his lordship was despatched to bring the outfit along. This site is located well for visiting Cambridge and the surrounding area. Site facilities were kept immaculate as always. The wildlife observed was great to see so close to human activities. Use the bus to visit town as the parking can be horrendous. A visit to Ely is a must, the bonus being free car parking throughout the city. Also consider a trip to Grantchester and it’s meadows. All in all a nice, pleasant return to Cherry Hinton. We will be back again.

Great Site

This is a great little site. It is unusual because there is no road that goes all the way around. It is more like a tree with each branch being a dead end. Unusually when you check in you pull past the barrier, par up and then go for a walk round the site to find your ideal pitch. The system works really well. The site itself is really well set out and you feel as though you are on a small local site. The facilities were excellent although the hot water in the showers could have done with being a little 'hotter'. The staff were really helpful and very pleasant. A tip for those going into Cambridge - use the bus as traffic is quite bad. All in all a great site and location - highly recommended.

July 2019

We were alarmed by a previous review describing the facilities as poor and not clean. Our fear was unfounded. The facilities were spotless and indeed, gleaming! Our only word of caution is around pitch selection as many are in very shady areas and overhung by the old quarry walls. If you want sunshine and related warmth choose carefully.

Enjoyed it

Good location, 2 dog/children friendly pubs in a short walking distance...we preferred the Robin Hood, although the we had a drink in the Red Lion too. There’s a direct bus in to Cambridge although we did walk in (it was a bit of a trek!). The site itself is well run, clean & tidy. The toilets & showers plentiful & up to the club standards we see elsewhere. There’s shops & takeaways close enough to walk to & a decent nature trail/wooded walk across the road from the site...we liked it here & would return.

Perfect!

My wife and I have just returned from a 5 night break at your Cambridge Cherry Hinton Site. WOW what can I say. PREFECT HOSTS! Lovely human beings who were courteous, kind and patient. The site was immaculately kept. Shower block was clean from floor to ceiling. Perfect location and hosts. Thank you! If pitch 43 is free it will provide you with ultimately privacy. Cycle path to Grantchester to the Orchard Teas Rooms (Yum) and Fen Ditton The Plough (Yum) are a must! Both locations are beside the River Cam.

Must improve

Having spent 7 weeks travelling through Western Europe Cherry Hinton's facilities were the grubbiest we have come across. The site was also the most expensive. After Cherry Hinton we moved on to Richmond Hargill House where the facilities were very clean. How can the Caravan and Motorhome club operate with such wide ranging standards. The facilities need upgrading but that is no excuse. Again, in comparison with the overseas sites we used, this site was the least well kept.
