Weekend Break to Cambridge

We visited Cambridge as a short city break to relieve the monotony of work! The site is easy to find and is an excellent location for the city which was very pleasant. We took the bus which runs every 10 minutes and costs £4.40 return. There is little else around so it wouldn't suit us for more than a couple of days. The Robin Hood pub is a 5 minute walk and does average pub grub. If you have a dog there is a disused quarry over the road which is Ok for walks. We were told on Friday when we arrived the site was full and it appeared to be so which is why we were disappointed to find that half the showers and some of the toilets were locked restricting access. This was an issue on Sunday when people were up and aiming to leave fairly early, a queue soon appeared causing a little frustration! Surely if a site is full ALL the facilities should be available. Of all the sites we have visited we found the staff a little lacking in enthusiasm when we checked in and wanted to enquire about local facilities. The office is only open for set hours throughout the day and we got the feeling if you needed anything outside of this it was a little inconvenient. All in all a pleasant weekend but not somewhere I would rush back to.
