Autumnal break

Our second stay here. A superb setting , this site is one of the best we've been to . Really picturesque amongst pine woodland, just a walk away from a lovely walk to reservoir . Perfect location, especially during the crisp autumn sunshine. Facilities are spotless and the wardens were very friendly . Would definitely recommend!

Hello Erin Sion,

We're considering a trip to Carsington Water in July but we were wondering if, because of the proximity of the lake to the site, are there any midges around at this time of the year?  Whatever your reply, thanks from both of us.

Trampers, it looks as if the reviewer only visits here about once a year so probably won't see your question.

We stayed at Carsington briefly several years ago and I don’t recall an insect problem. Certainly any midges won’t be of the Scottish man eating breed!

You could ask on the forum in UK Sites and Touring if you need more info.👍🏻

I have stayed there a few times in Summer. No midge problems. Our last visit was end of August just gone
