We booked the Carsington, Club site, looking forward to the trip, but arrived from the Lakes, after being rained on , to the prospect of a windy , and rainy three days. We decided to call it a day, and go home early, sadly, as that is not our way. The site is well organised , and staff seem very efficient. It is pretty, and well placed for the reservoir, and local walks and bike trails, BUT, we, although we had bikes with us, were in our motorhome, and thought that once we had cycled around the main reservoir, there was not much left to do, in the very windy, wet weather we were having. No walkable or bikeable pubs or towns, so we were feeling marooned. We feel it would be brilliant for caravaners with a car, or younger more energetic people, who would love to take advantage of the area, on foot or bike It is a brilliant proposition , but for us possibly too far away from it all.
