Site rules being ignored ruined our stay

We arrived at 1pm and just managed to join the back of the queue up the lane to the site. It took half an hour to eventually get to reception. Warden that met us was very friendly, and also a friendly face in reception. Site has 1 narrow road going through and pitches are small areas to left, at the top end or along the road edge on right. After locating a pitch trying to get down to motorhome service point was a tight squeeze with the narrow road blocked by incoming vehicles. It is a pretty site nestling in the trees but there is only the 1 toilet block which was spotless. Our pitch sat on a bend and electric bollard was other side of a grassed area behind us. Sadly this area was used as a thoroughfare. We had other members not just using the grass as a shortcut but were ignoring our electric cable. It was walked on, small ride on toys were ridden over it, and even a mobility vehicle was driven across it. Then we had the children racing across it on their bicycles. Shouting as they sped alongside our awning to take the short cut and across the electric cable. From the info we found no buses run Sunday or bank holidays and the connect bus has to be booked in advance so as we were only there over Easter weekend we only ventured to the reservoir or walked the dogs around the perimeter walks. Food vendors were available Friday, Saturday and Wednesday evenings Also Friday/Saturday am for coffee and light snacks, though we didnt use any as we had no cash on us and nearest cashpoint was 7 miles away. In general I would say the site is best suited to caravaners or those that tow a vehicle should you want to get out and about or even bikes if you dont have dogs to consider. It is a nice site, the wardens were lovely but it is not a site I would recommend.
