Loved it here!

We visited for 5 nights and found it to be a very relaxing site in a very attractive location, just a few minutes walk from Castleton. The toilet block facilities were very clean and the wardens were amongst the most friendly that we have encountered. We enjoyed several hill walks from Castleton and the views from the top are stunning! Ye Olde Nags Head and The Bulls Head both served excellent meals, cooked to perfection, at very reasonable prices. We loved it and will definitely return.

Would come again

Lovely site, very autumnal setting- however spoilt by road noise, especially early morning.

A good site....would return.

Site clean and tidy, wardens friendly and welcoming.   Excellent for good walks and dramatic scenery.   Easy to nip to Castleton for early morning newspaper.   Wifi hopeless- 2015 for goodness sake!  One major thing to appreciate here is the generous pitch size.... no feeling of " pack them in regardless of discomfort" as on so many other sites...well done indeed.   Be aware that several pitches definitely need levelling blocks.   Lots of well behaved children playing around....bikes, scooters etc....delightful.   One mini moan is, again for us,  too many oppressive trees. All in all this is  a site  well worth a second visit.

Will definitely be back

Lovely site in a stunning location.  Lots to do in the area.  Staff were very friendly and helpful.  My two girls enjoyed the pumpkin competition and sweets too!  We will definitely be back.

First time at Castleton

Just stayed here for the first time for October half term, really impressed with the site very well maintained by all the wardens which are all extremely helpful! Facilities very clean, ideally located to all attractions and nice walk into Castleton and most pubs are dog friendly! Will definately be returning!

Brilliant...... as usual

Great base for us for Hill walking and more importantly cycling. Once again a clean site in the beautiful Peak District, usual Village services and welcome from this site and the area. We will be back of course and to those who like to visit cities with their children Sheffield and Manchester are not far away so a good base for all

walking area

It was last September when we stayed for one week  lovely clean site and the wardens ere so welcoming and helpful  strict visitor control Dogs to be kept under control the only criticism  (which the wardens could not forsee) was the constant barking of members dogs nice walk into Castleton and surrounding villages a beautiful place to stay

Walkers Paradise

We stayed at this site for 5 nights in October. The site was very clean and tidy, spotless toilet block and the wardens were very friendly. The area is a must for walkers with some great walks accessible from the site. No need to use the car. The views of the surrounding hills were stunning. We will definitely be back.
