Our problems arose when we could only book 3 days initially, when another day became available we booked this separately. When we arrived we were told that we would have to move from our none awning pitch to an awning pitch (bigger pitch) on the 4th final day. We did ask if we could stay on the smaller pitch and was told that was not possible unless a pitch under repair became available. Thursday we asked again but they could still not say, we did not like to be rude but had wondered why after being told by other campers that other people were being asked to move but the opposite way round so common sense makes us wonder why they could not let us and the other people where possible stay put. Not wanting to appear rude but wondering why they were not able to work this out we waited until Friday as we had noticed the cone had been removed. Visit to the office at 10:30 was still not able to confirm we could stay put and said they would know by 12:00 if the other pitch was back in use meaning we could stay. Importantly they did not say that we could not go out and that we needed to return to the office at 12:00 no later or that they would ring us to confirm that we still wanted to stay.
When we returned to the site at 14:15, the warden had given the repaired pitch away meaning we could not stay on the pitch as they had tried to contact us on the number held on file which is a work number not in use when on holiday which we would have told them had they told us that they were going to phone us.
They said that they needed to confirm that we still wanted to stay on our pitch as we may have changed our minds between 10:30 & 12:00 !!!!!
If this is their procedure, fine but not fair if you don't share this with members. We were that disappointed that we moved to another site for the last 2 nights.
