Good Easter Break

We arrived round about lunch time and joined the cue, but thankfully the very helpful wardens started to process the eager Easter Break members before the usual deadline which was much appreciated by all. The site is quite compact but nevertheless clean and tidy, especially, for this time of year.  We arrived on Thursday for a four night stay, thankfully, the weather over the weekend just got better and better and the site coped well at full capacity. The site is well positioned on the edge of the Peak District and is just a short half mile or so walk out of Castleton.  The only issue we had with the site and it's only a small issue because they were always clean and tidy, is that the toilet blocks are now showing their age.  My wife told me one of the shower floors in the ladies block was bear concrete! Castleton is a small compact village with six or more pubs and good food is readily available.  All the pubs accept families, dogs and muddy boots. Although the posh one opposite "The Castle" provide plastic overshoes.  Being on the edge of the Peak District the site is well placed for easy driving/sightseeing and plenty of walking, even direct from the site. It's the third time we've visited this site and it will not be the last.  If you like the outdoors this site is a must - book it as soon as you can.
