Lovely location but.......

We stayed here for one night in mid-May as part of our Peak District tour. It was very busy and we only had the choice of 2 white pitches. We parked up quickly without hooking up/ getting water etc. and walked into Castleton town. It is a nice little town but it was lunchtime in a Wednesday so be aware that most businesses close for the afternoon. The prettiest areas are off the main streets. We got back to the site to discover that the back half of our pitch was covered in loads of cigarette ends! Pretty unpleasant in these Covid times. No pitch checks between 12 and 1pm? The road noise was really intrusive too so we decided to move. The Warden's hut was close so we found a blue pitch free (cheaper than what we had paid for but away from the road and clean!) Once we had found a new pitch we were happy so would return here despite the initial disappointment.
