First time at Cayton Village

Booked solely to stay alongside friends using a Glamping Cabin. Site is four and a half miles from Scarborough itself, with good public transport from outside the site, and a P&R a mile away. Just outside village of Cayton itself with a store and pubs. Site itself looks quite new, big generous HS pitches, and very nice clean facility block. Only the lower site was open at time of our visit, but expect upper site and facilities to be similar. The lower site is a tad bleak and open for our taste, bit car park like, but has a few trees and shrubs. The Glamping Cabin area is more inviting from a “plantings” perspective. Staff on duty were very welcoming and helpful, made sure to inform us about adjacent ongoing building works, so we could choose a quieter pitch. The dog walk on-site is very good, plenty of distance for that first and last walk, and it’s fenced in so dogs can go off lead. Scarborough isn’t far, plenty to do and see. We had no problems parking our MH up under the Castle. Interesting observation. Our friends paid a lot less for a Cabin per night, than we did for a pitch. The site wasn’t busy at all, at most 40 pitches of lower area in use at time of our stay. A better midweek discount might attract more visitors at this time of year. We will visit again, but might get a better deal in a Cabin.
