Excellent centre for walking and sightseeing

A nicely laid out sight with spotless facilities. Well managed by friendly, helpful wardens. The tree-lined pitches on the site lose the sun early and pigeon droppings are a nuisance to outfits, particularly awnings. The town of Cheddar lacks charm and the lower end of the gorge is very tacky. The town has numerous pubs, a petrol station and two mini markets, both expensive. Nearby Wells has a nationally, well known discount supermarket and a visit for the weekly shop is the cheaper option even taking the extra mileage into account. The surrounding area of Somerset is beautiful and offers wonderful walking paths, quaint villages and excellent country pubs. The Cheddar site is an excellent base for visitors to the area.
