Travellers on Adjacent Car Park ruined our stay.

Some pitches back onto a jockey club car park and park-and-ride site that has free access to travellers. My car and caravan was damaged by stones thrown over the fence from this car park. Fence was down in one place and travellers children were seen to have climbed over. Therefore the security of the site is pretty poor IMHO. Local council apprently do not want to put height restrictions on the car park access and local police closed the file with no action. Site owner is apparently well aware of the issue. Shame, as it's really handy for the town and a good enroute stop-over point. Would only use again in a dire emergency but would keep well away from the top of the site.

Thanks for leaving feedback, a good reason why I wont be staying.  Shame as I love staying at the Exeter racecourse site

It is a crying shame Sarah as its position within walking distance of the town is perfect and as stop off enroute it's easy to find and has good access.

My understanding is the jockey club who own the land are well aware of the issue and have been trying to find a solution with the council.

I was told their senior management had been made aware of this damage and were again looking for a solution.

The problem it would appear is one of their stable blocks and a footpath is in the same car park and fencing it all off whilst leaving access would be difficult.

Keeping aware from the top plots would be OK but of course the fence being poorly maintained is an issue too.

As I said for me, it's use in an emergency only.

Shame.
