Post Lockdown Getaway

Just back from a two night (Sat - Mon) stay, less than a fortnight after the long awaited April 12th national site reopening. After seeing all the drama and debate on the site's Facebook group, was wondering what to expect - but as it happened all was well. For those travelling in the near future, be reassured the toilet blocks are open with a token system restricting access to four people at any one time - no real problem providing people remember to put the tokens back, and no showers in use as widely advertised. Dishwashing facilities were still in use. One point to note is that the chemical toilet point at the toilet block was closed, but the open air point nearer the entrance was in use... Bit further to carry the cassette. Other than that a lovely peaceful weekend even with the site being full on the Saturday night. Sitting outside there is faint motorway noise, but drowned out by the birds singing. Site feels more spacious than some of the pictures suggest, bright and airy. Walking distance from the Cheshire Oaks complex with Sainsburys, Costa, KFC, McDonalds etc and the Harvester restaurant. For your BBQ meat though can recommend Lime Tree Farm Shop - head towards the main road, turn first left after the Harvester and before Cheshire Oaks.
