Over night stop.

What was just an overnight stop, made us see what a great site this is, so well laid out and so well kept. We will go back to this site for a much longer stay.

Our First Time to Wales

We arrived at the site, greeted by a lovely lady who told us we could find a pitch and gave us our a kids tourer explorer pack we had a 10 & 15 year old). We pitched up on what we thought was a great spot (pitch 20), close to toilets, plenty of space. Little did we know on Sunday night we had rain and woke up to our awning flooded at one side, my husband went to investigate outside as it wasn't draining away. He had to remove some of the wooden edging so this could happen (which worked and stopped our awning flooding anymore). We completed the treasure hunt which both children enjoyed, and the following day we went out to explore Wales and there was some rain, however when we returned the front porch of our awning was collapsed and the roof filled with rain. We were not back till the evening and found it strange that no warden had spotted this or anyone had helped us out (sad as I thought that's what wardens and caravanners did). We continued to explore Wales and enjoy the rest of the holiday and amenities on site. However, on our last day I was up at 8 and my husband at 9 and we began packing away, one of the female wardens came at 11:30 and said "you did know its 12:00 departing and as we are full again", I replied yes (as I was well aware of cc rules), But she was quite rude and had our awning not of been flooded previously it would not of taken time to clean before packing it away meaning we would not of left the site at 12:00 instead of 11:30am. We thought the site was nice and what we expected clean, good amenities but felt this pitch must of flooded before and was not made aware of places that were succeptible to this (as on one of the days a male warden came and checked the grass area in front of our pitch for flooding). We also feel that the female warden on our last day was rude (we are aware of cc rules and that she was following these), but just simply asking if we are ok we could of explained our circumstances.

Brilliant stay

A lovely. clean site that is very well maintained. The owners were friendly and very helpful! Very close to lots of attractions. The copper mines are well worth a look at and we went to the CAT centre (Centre for Alternative Technology)which was excellent for families and very interesting if you get on a tour. We had lots of beautiful walks and you can get maps from the shops for a small donation. The scenery is stunning! I loved the fact that you have a main shower block plus an annex so you still can use the toilet or have a shower even if one part is closed for cleaning. Had lots of rain, but there is so much to do nearby it shouldn't stop you doing things! Thanks.

Superb site.

Just had a quick look at the other reviews, and it's all been said before tbh, lovely site, will definitely return. Just a shame our kids are grown up now, they would have absolutely loved the adventure playground. Pub and restaurant a minutes walk away, so no need to drive anywhere else at night.

Lovely site in a great location

We recently returned from a three day stay on this lovely site at the end of a week touring Wales. The site is well located in the heart of Snowdonia, just down the road from Blaenau FFestiniog, Beddgelert and LLanberis, next to the LLyn peninsular and within easy reach of Anglesey. The site is very green with moderate numbers of pitches, grouped together on terraces at different levels, and well sheltered by a large number of mature trees and shrubs. This means that the outlook from an average pitch will feature a dozen others at the most - giving an excellent feeling of peace and privacy that is not often found on sites of this size. The main facilities are in one location in the centre of the site (with refuse and service points dotted around the rest of the site). These facilities are split between two blocks that are joined together by a sheltered walkway. The beauty of this arrangement is that only one block is cleaned at a time, with the other still available for showers, washing-up and WC's, during that process. This is a practice we have not encountered elsewhere and would very much like to see adopted, wherever possible. All of the facilities are very clean and well maintained - no surprises there! The staff are the usual CC mix of friendly, helpful people with good local knowledge. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Coed-y-Llwyn and recommend to all. We will return the next time we are in the area.

Nice stay

Just returned from a 9 night stay here overall the site was lovely as you would expect from the caravan club but the toilet block needs updated, although clean it presented run down. The steep steps to the side of the toilet block were a bit on the unsafe side close to the top the paving slabs were loose. Playpark was good for the children and wardens were very helpful. I would return in the future.

Excellent holiday

We stayed here for 10 days from 12 Aug 16.  We were given a lovely welcome by all of the staff who were so friendly.  The play area was brilliant as was the dog walk. The grounds staff inter acted wonderfully with the kids letting them help out while they were working and rewarding them with a few sweets afterwards. The site is immaculately clean and well presented and really peaceful and quiet.  It is perfectly situated to explore all that Wales has to offer. Will definitely return.

Pitch size

We stayed two nights here from 7/8. There were very few pitches left when we arrived and we chose one right next to a winabago which was huge it also had a trailer and car parked to the right of it. However the occupants took over the left hand side of the camper van which technically was reserved for us. They had dogs on a leash which were too long so much so the dogs could come into our caravan. They also had a washing line parked on it as well. If we had put our awning up we couldn't have had any space. Perhaps these big vans should be parked on the edge of the site rather than in the middle of everyone else. Apart from that the site was well kept and the wardens were lovely. I was going to talk to them when we left but the office was closed because they were cleaning the toilets and it was difficult to park our car and caravan

First time in Wales

Well our first visit to Wales and the bar has been set very high!! This is a wonderful Caravan Club site in a truly amazing setting. On arrival the wardens were lovely. Very friendly and helpful offering local information when requested on cycling and walking in the area. Generally really nice people and doing a great job in keeping the site very clean and tidy. The site has a great play area for children as well as a separate dog exercise area which were both immaculate throughout our 8 night stay. We took advantage of the location and visited several of the amazing places around which are magnificent. On the whole this is a great club site with really nice wardens in a great surrounding offering a good route to the North Wales countryside. Will definitely be returning.

Lovely Place

We visited the site for a few days earlier this month, we didn't choose the easiest route to get here but it was like a finding a "Pot of Gold" waiting for us. Wardens were fantastic, friendly and very welcoming. Will visit here again in the future as there is so much to explore and this site is a diamond of a base to work from.
