Excellent Site

The objective of the visit was to visit some of the little trains of Wales. It is very convenient for the Welsh Highland Railway and the Blaenau FFestiniog. The Snowdon Summit railway is a very attractive 20 mile drive away. The site itself is subdivided into about six areas and each area feels quite exclusive. Almost needless to say facilities and wardens were excellent. There is one nearby (walking distance) pub with a good choice of eating places a five mile drive away in Porthmadog.

little gem

really good site good central location everything seems to be within 5 miles . toilets were nice and tidy could do to be some more but wasnt really an issue. wardens were great on hand if you needed them felt it might be a bit to quiet for kids but just down the road is coed y brenin forest centre which was fantastic really well thought out for all tastes nice and cheap on the parking and lots to do well worth a look . it would be nicer if there was a bigger dog walking area thats the only real fault i could think of the pub outside was okay reasonable prices if you didnt fancy cooking one night we would definetly go back as there is so much to see and do in the area well worth a look if your unsure only other criticism was the tv signal was poor which a lot of people commented on but hay your on your holidays go and explore its fun

Very Quiet site

Stayed for 7 nights. It was very quiet and ideal for walking and good for dog walking; the office have good routes to do. The t.v has good reception now the ariel system is up and running. The site was pretty full during our stay but never noticed any issues . Wardens friendly helpful and knowledgeable of the area. We enjoyed our stay and found north Wales delightful.

Beautiful

This really is a most beautiful site. We have now been here for 7 years in a row and we still can't fault it. The minute you pull on to the site you get an overwhelming sense of peacefulness and calm. the site is stunning, the surrounding area is stunning and you could not pick a better base for a holiday in North Wales. The facilities were spotless and the wardens worked they're socks off to keep eveything spick and span. They were a very friendly and helpful team. We thought we might try a different location in Wales next year but have already decided that actually, we just want to go back to Coed Y Llwyn.

Wonderfull

This is my second stay at this site and you just cannot find fault. The whole site and its facilities are spotless which is a great credit to the wardens who never seem to stop, a great team. The location of the site is ideal for all. Railway buffs and enthusiasts are spoilt for choice, as are walkers and hikers. For those who just want to take it easy there are plenty of places of interest close by. Betws  Y Coed is a great example, plenty of shops cafes and hotels, The Alpine Coffee Shop is my favorite they serve good quality food and drinks at reasonable prices and if you have a dog they are also very welcome. A great stay.

Always love coming to this site

We have just spent 7 days on this lovely site and the lovely sunny weather made it perfect. Although we have visited this area many times over the last 50 years, we always find new places to explore, both on the doorstep and further afield. The site is an ideal base for exploring Snowdonia, the Isle of Anglesey and the Lleyn Peninsula.

A worthy place to stay

I really good site. It's location is good if you want to go out explore, I spent ten nights here and left still more to see and enjoy. Another visit to come.  Wardens are top notch and extreamly friendly. Some pitches are very spacious but can require some intense levelling.  After sorting out my caravan, I struggled with my air awning, because the ground rises so much! I agree with a previous review, take time and walk the site, you miss too much driving around it.  That said, would I come here again - too right I would !

Nice but sloping

This is a nice site with good facilities, especially the play area. The pitches do vary in size and shape and many are nowhere near level, so bring levelling blocks just in case! The site is on several levels, some pitches are very shaded whilst others have full sun. I'd recommend a good walk round the site to find a pitch that suits you.  The wardens are very helpful. The site shop sells basics and ice cream.  Porthmadog has Aldi, Lidl, Tesco and is about 6 miles away. I'd recommend the beach at Criccieth - very shallow with sand, shingle, rock pools - and only £2 to park for the whole day!
