Brilliant site

I stayed in my tent for 3 nights, I am local to the Lake District but wanted a few nights away from home. The site is easy to find and well laid out, it is a big site but the spaces are well set out and there are plenty of toilet/wash blocks. They have a few tent sites which were in a lovely quiet area, my only issue was that the ground was so stoney I struggled with my cheaper tent pegs, luckily a very kind couple allowed me to use some of their heavier duty pegs. If you're a novice camper like myself, be prepared and buy yourself some heavy duty rock pegs (not a negative about the site, more down to my lack of being prepared). Can easily walk down to the lake which is at the bottom of the site and to Coniston village which is about a mile walk, there is a lovely off road route available if you want to avoid the main road (my Mum could get her off road mobility scooter down it easily). Fab little onsite store and food van that was open a few evenings a week, there is also a pub about a 15 minute walk away. I have a little terrier and the area was great for walks, the site has several playgrounds for kids too. I went "out of season" so it was quieter which was nice for a few days away. Will be back with the campervan :-)
