Good for families

A tamed wilderness.

Such a wonderful site. My brother, my friend and I were attending this year's Tank Fest at the Tank Museum, only a few miles way and this site was the perfect location for our base. Access is easy even for larger vans (mine is 7.97 metres) and the reception area has a large open tarmac pad so arriving outfits do not block access for others already on site. Covid measures at reception are excellent and Graham and his partner are the perfect site managers. We were given a very warm welcome and the site services, amenities and pitch locations were explained to us clearly and backed up with clear written copies. The site is a wonderful mix of wild woodland interspersed with quiet bays for groups of outfits. Wildlife abounds and the deer think nothing of wandering close to the outfits but don't feed them! We took pitch 37, a very level and well kept pitch and at no time did we feel hemmed in or overlooked despite the other setups around us. There was a lot of space for my car, caravan and awning. Toilets, showers and water and waste point areas are spotless and odour-free. A Co-op is only 5 minutes walk directly along the road outside the site if the site shop doesn't have what you need. But perhaps the greatest advert for the quality of the people running the site was the assistance I received from Graham and his partner when I had the misfortune to lose my car keys and my car and caravan had to be uplifted from the site by Green Flag. They simply could not do enough for me and made me feel less stressed out in such an awful situation and I am eternally grateful to them for that. This site is 369 miles from me but I will return next year with my children when we come down for Tank Fest 2022 because the site and it's managers are worth every mile of the trip. See you next year.
