Good for families

Good location but poor facilities

Lovely location and a pretty site but we were really disappointed by the facilities. The composting toilets are a nice idea but in reality are pretty grim. There is a warning that young children should be supervised when using them which wouldn’t suit some young families, and it also means the door code still needs to be used which isn’t entirely Covid-friendly. The showers are in a separate block and very dated with poor water pressure. We had no mobile signal at all and the WiFi only works on hotspot near reception (slowly), very frustrating that we could only use our annual Caravan Club WiFi connection if we drove to reception and sat in the car (weather was awful, couldn’t sit outside). There are so many signs dotted around the site telling us what we couldn’t do but it would be nice if that was countered by up to date services we could enjoy! Sadly it was also pretty noisy as we discovered too late that we were very close the railway, freight traffic trundles by all night, so it wasn’t the most relaxing of stays. Sorry it is mostly negative but it’s how it was for us.

Forgot to add that we didn’t even get a TV signal - on site booster didn’t work and our ariel reception wasn’t awful, only got BBC1 for 4 nights!

As all should do is review the site, out side all toilet and shower blocks are little boxes that have hand sanitizer in them if you use this on your hands before touching buttons, the only diffrent to your toilet at home is you don’t have a flush.it tells you to lower the seat down after use this helps the showers are old pipe work and if had better pressure would prob blow the pipe apart the television problem could have been  due to a. caravan that had come attached from the car and rolled backwards into the booster and light box the amount of reviews that tell u about trains is about 100% I don’t think any of the club sites leave any equipment in the showers or toilets that people can you touch the toilets and showers are cleaned frequently if any one doesn’t feel safe then I think they should use ther own  vans but beware of water filling taps bins ect
