Poor access to site and unhelpful

We stayed here following ferry from France. The access road are poor to the site very narrow and leaving was very difficult with cars speeding down the hill on a very narrow road making it difficult to climb the hill. Bear this in mind when booking. The reception was closed most of the time. The toilets and showers were closed from 10am to 1.30pm and there is only 1 shower block serving the whole site, therefore on departure day we couldn't shower once packed up as depure time is 12pm. The site does not appear to be solely for caravan and motorhome club users.

Lizlock1 Reviewed on 28/08/2022 12:35 Re: Poor Access to the Site.              It would appear that you followed your sat nav without checking the route on a map. Driving from Dover on the A20 in the direction of Folkestone, after the tunnel and where the A20 becomes the M20 you should have taken the slip road left following the sign A259 to Folkestone / Hythe / Dymchurch / New Romney / Hastings.

After leaving Hythe on the A259 one will see a Military Firing Range on the left (the seward side)  continue on towards Dymchurch, the Range extends some distance, until one sees on the right the wide entrance to the SRH quarry, whose large signs face in both directions, and just beyond this entrance there is a central keep left island. Carry on a short distance and take the next road on the right, Botolph's Bridge Road, signposted with a brown tourist sign to 'Port Lympne Zoo Park'. Go straight on, crossing the RH&D miniature railway line until the Botolph's Bridge Inn  is reached on the left hand side of the T junction. Turn left and after a short distance the entrance to CAMC Daleacres Site will be found on the left. The route from Hythe to the CAMC site is all level and after turning off the A259 the lane is only bordered by farmland. In my experience a much better route than the one you took. So do not be put off visiting Daleacres site again, I really like it and its location. Jeremy. CAMC Member.
