A suprisingly good site

Stayed here at Easter 2015 and was very pleasantly surprised by the site. Despite being on the very edge of the National Park the site had a fantastic backdrop of a large hill. Not near any heavily trafficked road and the site was idyllically peaceful, generally with only the sound of the sheep and the birds in the background. Although it was busy and we did not get a choice of pitches they are all well-spaced out and the one we were allocated was in a decent spot in the top field which got the evening sun. Very well maintained and staff very friendly and helpful. Walked and cycled to nearby lakes so did not have to take the car out. Places to eat out in the area are too far/on busy roads to walk or cycle, but the reviews I read in the on-site review book rated some of them quite well. Definitely the “hidden gem” as another reviewer had called it.
