First of many visits

Having never been to this site before, like so many other reviewers, we will be returning to enjoy its main assets of space, peace and quiet and centrality to so many wonderful walks. The wardens were very welcoming and displayed a friendly, helpful manner when needed. Access to the site from the main road calls for care along the minor road. Once in the site there are no problems. The lack of toilet block did not bother us in this period of Covid and really cannot see it being a problem anywhere to the future because we are happy to make full use of our own facilities. The site was kept tidy and clean. We witnessed two lasting changes taking place in our 5 night stay with the disused boules alley being landscaped and the policy to let the larger grass areas return to a more natural meadow - good idea for a site with meadow in its name!!! Both strike us as good ideas but future self seeding grasses could lead to greater use of herbicides to counter the spread of weeds on the gravelled access roads. In conclusion a great site for those seeking seclusion in a very scenic area in the far west of the Lake District.
