More like a CL

We booked for a fortnight in May. Never having stayed on a Club Site for that long we were rather apprehensive as we usually use the CLs. It was wonderful. Very quiet and peaceful. The best thing about the site is it looks so natural. Usually the club sites are manicured within an inch of their life! Not this one. The grass is left to grow and the range of wildflowers is beautiful so it blends in so well with the surroundings . The site is also an excellent location for exploring the North West Lake District. Loweswater, Ennerdale, Buttermere are all within easy reach, as is Cockermouth, Maryport, St Bees and Ravenglass. So much to see! And walking is good too. The wardens were brilliant. Friendly, but not intrusive and kept the site very tidy. So if you usually stay on a CL, I definitely would recommend Dockray meadow.
