Dolaucothi is truly beautiful and tranquil, and combined wth the friendliness of our wardens, Paul and Paula, we had a weekend to remember. We intended to tour around but never moved the campervan once parked. Sunday we walkied over the road to the National Trust owned gold mine to explore the Roman excavations on a really interesting tour hosted by Beth. A trip to the National Trust owned pub within easy walking distance for a superb Sunday lunch put paid to the planned afternoon tour of the Victorian workings which had to be delayed until Monday. Both tours are well worth doing. The cycling and quiet walks are breathtakingly. A must visit site in West Wales.
