Fabulous stop on the NC 500

First thing to say is we arrived from a non CC site looking forward to immaculately clean, hot showers, with plenty of room. We were not disappointed! We were pretty tired after the single track roads from Durness; the wardens gave us a warm welcome, were helpful about pitches and were just generally cheery! Pitches felt large and spaced out; many of them afford views over the dunes to the bay. The beach is long and sandy. Perfect for dog walking and building sandcastles. This is a lovely site and worth a longer visit than our overnight stop. Dunnet Head is an interesting side trip and there was plenty of space for motorhome parking when we visited. The gin distillery does do tours - not obvious from their website - but disappointingly it was closed for a private tour when we visited.
