We stayed here in early July - magnificent site. I have passed the site on 100's of occasions in the past prior to having a motorhome so knew how popular it was, i stayed in the area as a child so also knew the area. The site is on the edge of Dunnet Bay, a superb sandy beach which is great for kids/families to enjoy. You are a short drive/cycle to Dunnet Head the Northern most point of the GB Mainland. You are also only ~14 miles to John O' Groats which has a passenger ferry that runs day trips to Orkney. Scrabster which has a car ferry to Orkney is also only 10 miles away, a smaller car ferry runs from Gills Bay across to the islands but this really needs to be booked in advance. Lots to do & lots to see,excellent site, great facilities,helpful wardens........not to be missed if you are truly up North.
