We stayed at this site for two nights at the end of April when the weather was fairly unsettled and cold. Our impression was of an ideally located site for a short stay if you were travelling along the A1, whose presence is certainly loud. The same applies for visiting Durham and its environs: a great location. Given the challenge to the site from the A1 we did wonder why some compensating efforts aren’t made to improve the site by some landscaping and tree planting. As things stand, the site is probably the least attractive we’ve experienced. Facilities and wardens were of the usual high standard.
