Nice Site - None Compliant Wardens

Stayed here many many times. Very handy for a stop over on the way down from Scotland. 2 minutes from A1 and you are on site, hence some peoples comments around noise, never been a problem for us. Site has none standard CC facility block which is a higher standard than the norm and is always warm and clean. Site is also great for visits to Durham and surrounding area, as others have said Durham is a great place to visit. Site has an unusual number of none awning pitches. On the last visit we booked an awning pitch. The site was very buy and only 2 pitches available. One had a cone on it and the other had a tree on the corner which made reversing onto very difficult. I commented that the pitch with the cone would have been much easier to get onto. Just as I was hoking up the electric a caravan arrived and the driver got out and moved the cone and proceeded to revers onto the pitch. It was clearly not being reserved due to disability issues as it was at the opposite side of the site and a long walk from the toilet block. The arrival was greeted by the occupant of the pitch 2 along from us. This irritated me as clearly the pitch was reserved and club rules are clear that pitch allocation is on a first come first serve basis. I commented to the arrival that it must be nice to get a pre-allocated pitch. His friend informed me that they were Caravan Wardens and I should mind my own business. I therefore must assume that visiting Wardens do not need to comply with Caravan Club rules. I mentioned it to the site Warden and was told they have had a tough week. I'm not sure what that was supposed to mean. May seem and sound petty but we are all members and what applies to one should apply to others, especially in a club where rules are so rigorously enforced (to some)
