Nostalgia ain't what it used to be

Last visited 28(ish)years ago. As might be expected in that time the facilities have been upgraded... Had a lovely 6 night stay. Walked into Durham via the footpath that finds its' way to the banks of the river. Cycling from the site isn't for the faint hearted and certainly ill advised for young children. Staff were approachable and friendly. Ideally situated site for a stop off during a long trek up or down the A1. Some vague drone from the A1 but certainly not enough to put us off a revisit (hopefully after a shorter gap than 28 years!).
