Great for touring the area
Stayed for 4 nights to visit the surrounding area. We visited President Washington's ancestral home, the Penshaw Monument, Beamish Living Museum and Durham City and Cathedral. We used the Park & Ride into Durham which is a 10 minute walk from the site. Site facilities were excellent. There is road noise from the A1 motorway.
