Top marks from us

We generally prefer small CL/CS sites to the big ones, which we find can be too regimented for our tastes. So booking East Fleet was a leap of faith for a visit to Weymouth as our usual CL (Mouse Cottage) was fully booked. What a surprise we got, and in a good way, Booking online was easy and led to a number of emails before our arrival with helpful information, and even a phone call a couple of days before our stay asking if we had any questions. Checking in (any time from 10,30) was also fuss-free, with a cheerful member of staff coming out to our motorhome armed with a welcome pack of information and a map already marking the route to our pitch. The site is undulating and consists of a number of fields, so it's true size is never obvious. Facilities are clean and almost luxurious in the main block where each cubicle has its own shower, wash basin and toilet. Everywhere was clean, with mature hedges providing further separation and the grass well tended. The site shop is exceptional, with probably as many caravan accessories as many a dealer, as well as a good range of groceries and fresh bread. There's a bar and restaurant, which we didn't visit, and a number of walking opportunities directly the site either along the coast path or a signed route in a nearby field. There's a bus stop at the end of the lane, but as Mrs M is not a great walker we used our motorhome to drive into Weymouth, using motorhome bays at the Pavilion car park, where the Just Park app gives you the opportunity to top-up your stay remotely if you run out of time. It's now our go-to place for future visits to the Weymouth area (although we still love Mouse Cottage too!)
