Fantastic site, friendly wardens

We stayed here for 8 nights during April. First thing we noticed when we drove into the site was the appearance, very well looked after. The second thing was the friendliness and the compitance of the wardens. I've read the other reviews and both me and my husband had no complaints about the toilet block. We didn't park near the road, so no noise. Loved the location, especially because we could walk across the road and we were on the sea front. Preferred walking away from Edinburgh because we thought it was much cleaner the further away from Edinburgh. Princess street and Royal mile was ok but wasn't impressed with the rest, but that's just our opinion. Would definitely recommend the club site though.

Good showers for short guys.

Just a quick review - We love going to the Edinburgh site - and have visited on all 4 seasons. This time we were on the Leith side of the site, and all 3 of us noticed that the shower heads are great if you like limbo dancing. I know you can't easily fix them, but when you next upgrade these toilets (and that should be soon!) please remember the showers should let you wash your hair... But we still love the site, and will be back for another limbo soon.

Good for visiting city

We stayed here for two nights on our two week touring holiday around Scotland. Lovely big site, warm welcome from wardens & ideal for visiting Edinburgh via mini bus direct from site or by normal bus services a 10 minute walk away. The advantage with the normal bus is you can buy a day pass for £4 to take you wherever you want to go. Recommend a visit to the Ocean Terminal shopping centre where the Royal Yatch Britannia is on display. We spent a couple of hours looking around Britannia & having tea & scones on board. A good view of the city can be obtained by walking up the very steep hill behind Holyrood - hard work but worth it for the view. Previously visited the castle which is another must. City is lovely with its buildings & parks. A couple of points about the site is that the toilet block we used was clean but looking tired & be aware that planes fly overhead on route to the airport (did not bother us). We will return again another day.

Back Again

Have just spent 5 days here with brilliant weather.  We came into Edinburgh via Leith, the first time ever, as we were approaching from the A1.  The road surface is OK to start with but deteriorates dramatically around Leith.  It does make the journey quicker but really not sure if it's worth it.  We are a motorhome towing a car on a trailer and rather long, the car was being bounced around.  The alternative route round the bypass is a much better surface but you can hit a great deal of traffic.  Once you arrive the welcome is great from the wardens, the choice of pitches is your only worry - there is too much choice!  The site is well kept, lots of walks down by the beach.  The loo blocks are very clean but starting to show their age.  A Toby Carvery is just up the road too.  So much to do in Edinburgh (27 or 16 bus £4 for a daily ticket).  Will be back again next year.

Brilliant

Visited for the second time this year and staff still remembered us from the first time. Very friendly staff with nothing too much for them. Beautiful, clean site and ideally situated for visiting the sights of Edinburgh and the surrounding scenery. Will certainly be back again this year and into the foreseeable future.

Excellent site

A lovely site well placed for exploring Edinburgh. Everything was perfect even enjoyed watching the constant air traffic passing over and soon got used to their noise. The best thing about this site is the shuttle bus into Edinburgh well worth the money and the driver is brilliant very accommodating and knowledgeable with his mini guided tour on the way in

A Must Site to Visit and Friendly

Enjoyed our stay again at this site staff were excellent and very efficient. A big thank you to the wardens who edged the grass round my pitch it made me feel very important. I know they were doing the whole site but it made my day when I returned to my motorhome. Thanks

Great site, easy access to the Capitol

This is a jewel of a site, principally because of the easy access to Edinburgh and its attractions. You can get the bus from the nearby stop, or travel on the regular minibus that departs from the site. All at very reasonable prices too.

The dog walk is amongst the "Spoof Wood" which is rather intriguing, but also home to wildlife. Take a look for yourself!

Facilities, likewise are clean and tidy.

Downsides? Very few. There can be traffic noise from the adjacent road, but pitching toward the middle of the site would avoid that.  The site is also close to the final approach track to Edinburgh Airport, so there's some noise from approaching aircraft, but Edinburgh's not Heathrow, so hardly anything to worry about.

Overall, a really good site and another we shall return to
