We stayed here for two nights on our two week touring holiday around Scotland. Lovely big site, warm welcome from wardens & ideal for visiting Edinburgh via mini bus direct from site or by normal bus services a 10 minute walk away. The advantage with the normal bus is you can buy a day pass for £4 to take you wherever you want to go. Recommend a visit to the Ocean Terminal shopping centre where the Royal Yatch Britannia is on display. We spent a couple of hours looking around Britannia & having tea & scones on board. A good view of the city can be obtained by walking up the very steep hill behind Holyrood - hard work but worth it for the view. Previously visited the castle which is another must. City is lovely with its buildings & parks. A couple of points about the site is that the toilet block we used was clean but looking tired & be aware that planes fly overhead on route to the airport (did not bother us). We will return again another day.

This is a jewel of a site, principally because of the easy access to Edinburgh and its attractions. You can get the bus from the nearby stop, or travel on the regular minibus that departs from the site. All at very reasonable prices too.
The dog walk is amongst the "Spoof Wood" which is rather intriguing, but also home to wildlife. Take a look for yourself!
Facilities, likewise are clean and tidy.
Downsides? Very few. There can be traffic noise from the adjacent road, but pitching toward the middle of the site would avoid that. The site is also close to the final approach track to Edinburgh Airport, so there's some noise from approaching aircraft, but Edinburgh's not Heathrow, so hardly anything to worry about.
Overall, a really good site and another we shall return to
