Edinburgh Club site

The site is on par with the majority of club sites. I stayed 3 weekends in November for watching the rugby. The facilities were the same standard as other club sites. I have stayed before and will stay again as suits my needs.Yes there is aircraft noise, this is sometimes noisy sometimes not so bad depends on the wind direction, you get used to it. It may not be in the best location, but there are buses not to far away and a regular mini bus from the site, which I have not used, just because we generally come back after it has finished for the night. It is extremely close to the promenade and the nearest footpath does go through a rough camp probably used by street drinkers, I did see 2/3 going in one evening. I agree with other comments the road to the site in the dark is very dark and it did frighten my wife, especially one night when a drunk appeared from the footpath through the football pitches, not sure who got the biggest fright us or him. I think the site is very poorly lit and can’t understand why it is so dark. I think there could be an access gate at the beginning of the site as you approach from the City side, this could have a physical lock as other sites have, this would reduce the walking distance on the unlit road. The entrance is poorly lit and the lighting here should be increased. I also think the club could be more proactive on lighting the path along the main road from the site. Never really have much interaction with wardens on any site as we do our research before going. Will still use the site as it meets our needs
