Good for families

Be warned!

A word of warning if intending to visit this site! During the day the site is perfect for families. However, that can't be said during the hours of darkness. Woke up at 03:30 by a group of yobs in the country park directly behind our caravan. Thought nothing too much of it at the time but woke up later on to find my carrera fury bike had gone (locked to caravan wheel) with the lock on the floor which had been cut through. Reported it to wardens who confirmed that at least 6 others had also been stolen during the night and a large number of masked youths had been seen in and around the site. Decided not to stay another night due to safety concerns but wasn't allowed a nights refund as the warden didn't have the authority to do that. He advised me to contact the club on monday . Discretion should have been used under the circumstances?. The biggest fear for me though was that masked youths can happily roam the site stealing bikes at will. What would have happen had my wife disturbed them had she wanted to visit the toilet block at the time doesn't bear thinking about and the site has a responsibility for the welfare and safety of its visitors. That was sadly lacking last night though and I for one will never visit Ferry Meadows ever again as I value the safety of my family above all else. Think very seriously before visiting this site!

Comment from the Club:

Thank you for your review. This sort of incident is an unusual occurrence at this site and for this to have happened at all, the Club is very sorry.  The site team is working in conjunction with the local Police team and will be putting further security in place for the upcoming Bank Holiday weekend.

A normal response from you JVB.  Always find a way of blaming the customer.

Now that there has been a successful robbery the thieves tend to return until it becomes non-profitable or too difficult.  Hopefully CC Ltd will know and/or have been warned of this and will act accordingly.

Not a 'Robbery' but theft.

This is not downplaying the incident and I can understand the impact that this has had on the victims and the upset of having their time away ruined. HOWEVER...

Robbery is very different.  It involves violence or fear of violence in order to steal.

No violence was used or threatened. No one was hurt and there is nothing to suggest that this would have happened.

Please let's not scare people into not using this site or anyone other site.

Happy holidays to all.

Technically yes, but the OP left for fear of further theft and expressed concern over the possibility of violence.

But that can happen any where these days , but if you are of what seems a growing part of the population with a feeling of insecurity,at what is happening to society, it will not help what ever measurs are put in place to mitigate it
