Great location close to town

Made my first visit here last month and was given a really nice warm welcome. ideal location so close to the town centre, or for a lovely walk round the lake next to the site. Facilities clean as a whistle and highly recommended

What a great site!

Needed somewhere to stay while visiting an elderly relative and also needed to take campervan out for its first trip of the season! I normally opt for CLs but this site is in a very convenient location and looked nice. And it is. Amazingly good value (£26 for 2 nights with hook up) brilliant level hardstanding spacious pitches, spotless facilities (and plenty of them), hairdryer, very good showers with plenty of hooks and space, plenty of bins, taps and waste disposal points, plus very friendly wardens. And just a 5 - 20 minute walk into Forfar to get bus to wherever.  I see one reviewer wasn't keen as it has a "municipal" feel.  I do understand what they mean but for me it was actually quite reminiscent of some of the great municipal sites there are in France, in that is quiet but also quite conveniently urban!

First Class Site

Just returned home after my third stay at Forfar Lochside. The facilities were, as usual, immaculate due to the the hard working, friendly wardens who never seemed to stop for a break. I hope they enjoy a lot of rest and recuperation now that the site is closed. Perfect for anyone wishing to explore the many interesting places in Angus and with easy access to Forfar itself which has supermarkets and other useful shops and businesses. Dog walkers will find the excellent trail around the loch directly outside the gates. Nature lovers will be well rewarded too with many surprises. I saw an Osprey fishing the loch from my pitch last summer and the numbers of over wintering duck and geese were starting to build up on this visit. An excellent site with great wardens. I will return.

Satisfaction guaranteed

This is the second time we have stayed at this site this year and it won't be the last. Normally we put our van to bed after September but she's staying up a bit longer because we are coming up here again. We had a lovely time here in August which was only spoiled by some numpty in the adjacent houses playing very loud music from two in the afternoon till gone ten thirty at night. No consideration for anyone. I would hate to be their neighbour! Anyway the site was brilliant as usual. everything clean and tidy. Phil the warden never seemed to stop working, I got tired just watching him everyday. Kris his wife could not do enough to help you and it was carried out with a smile and and a kind word. These wardens are a breath of fresh air and made our stay just that bit more memorable. I would definitely recommend this site for people looking for a site with easy access to the local town and as a base for touring the adjacent country side. Well done Kris and Phil!!!

Brilliant

We have visited lochside at least 3 times this year. There is a great Loch to walk round with the dog and local amenities are within easy walking distance. The staff are all friendly and welcoming and can’t wait to come back.

Another good stay

Been here numerous times site always immaculate and made even better by the glorious sunshine. We would recommend this site to anyone if you have not tried it then do so at the first opportunity. Everything is on the doorstep, park, Loch with great 2.5 mile circular walk, shops and supermarkets. Unlike some other reviewers we have alway found everyone to be really friendly and a large percentage dog owners the majority being well behaved and on lead or tied up. Will be back again soon.

Stopped here on our road home after visiting the 'North' of Scotland, found it to be a clean well run family orientated site. We hope to return in the future.

Not for us

Only stayed 1 night enroute to Highlands. The site is well looked after but it had a municple feel, location near the loch was quite urban and the country park surrounding it was very busy with locals. There was rather a lot of noise from the town and local sports complex the night we stayed. What really put me off was the high number of seagulls from the Loch and the area around our pitch was covered in duck and goose poo. Not very nice especially when you have a dog with you.. sorry we just didn’t like it.
