Great to be back at Godrevy

This was the busiest site we visited during our 4 site tour July/August but the site quietened down just after dark and most people were respectful of the Covid-19 arrangements. There were long queues for showers at certain times and we did have to complain to the warden about children riding bikes and dumping them on our pitch. They were also cycling around the blocks which defeated the social distance rules because people were queuing in the same place as children were cycling. This was sorted out as soon as we mentioned it. Apart from those niggles our stay was great. We walked from the site in both directions. I enjoyed a couple of swims in Carbis Bay which we passed on the way during our walk to St Ives. However, we were off the beach by midday as it was far too busy. St Ives was well organised but it was getting over crowded by the afternoons. We headed to Bottalack instead where we parked for free and enjoyed the spectacular scenery and the mining Heritage. Cape Corwall is stunning and it is Poldark Country. The weather was gorgeous and we rather reluctantly visited Geevor Mine because we had promised our sons - it was well worth a visit though and we had not prebooked. We popped in on the off chance when we realised that the Levant Mine was not open. There is so much more to do in the area that we will definitely be back to Godrevy.
