Ruined by selfishness

We stayed on the site last weekend and have been there before. The site itself is lovely and well placed. Our biggest problems were children and more importantly their selfish parents. From very early morning to very late at night the kids were using the camp site as a race track on scooters, bikes, electric scooters and so on with loud screams and shouts throughout the day. These kids were moaned about constantly and the wardens did nothing about them. They were going really fast and there were a number of near accidents with cars and people often. They would run across anyones pitches and showed no respect. Kids will be kids and my own when at this age were never allowed to ruin other peoples holidays. Will we return - probably but not when the kids are off school. The wardnes MUST enforce the site rules regarding safety and speed before someone is seriously hurt.

Disappointed

As usual I was excited to come back to Grafham water. I was extremely dissapointed by the biased attitude of the staff who seemed to take comments from a women who had an ongoing hatred of children. This nemesis would make it her business to patrol the site at 21:30 hours and complain to the warden if anyone was outside their van. We had a warden approach us at 21:27 asking us to keep the noise down shortly after her patrol. If he had just spoke to us so we could explain the tears we have had from our children he might not have been so one sided. Won't be coming back here.

Very nice family friendly site

Having been told how nice this site was by friends we thought we'd give it a try and I have to say we weren't disappointed. The site was very clean and tidy and the wardens very helpful. The pool is small and can get busy at times but it has life guards and a coloured band system for busy times. The only downside to location is that you definitely need the use of a car to see what the area has to offer. Only other thing was that you needed a key to use the toilets which is simple enough but not when you get to the toilet and you've forgotten your key!!

A two family break

We visited the site in the peak school holiday time as a family with two caravans and given that the site was fully booked for most of our stay we found the site up to the usual standards of cleanliness. A bonus of course is the pool which was much appreciated. The one disappointment for us was Grafham Water itself as we had brought along some canoes to use only to find we were not allowed to take our own boats on to the lake. However, we managed to find enough for some energetic teenagers to do although we had to travel some way to find them. One other thing is the toilet key system, why does the club still use keys? 4 keys between two families was not enough, a number of sites have digital pad systems so why can't all of them.

Returning for the second time

We love this site, with it's wildlife and peaceful surroundings.  The wardens are friendly and helpful, the site is kept very clean. We love the pool and was really pleased that it was open half an hour earlier this year for adults, as I enjoyed my swim in the morning. There is plenty to do, Hamerton zoo is a good day out.

A nice peaceful break.

First time at Grafham Water but it certainly will not be the last. A lovely peaceful, spotlessly clean and quiet site. The Wardens and Assistant Wardens were always busy doing something, however they always had time for a chat and offer some friendly advice. The kids loved the swimming pool. Great location for quiet countryside walks. Not from the cycle hire shop and a great time was had cycling around the reservoir. the village Community shop was just a couple of minutes walk from the site and the welcoming cold drink and ice creams were just what the Dr ordered on such a sunny day. The play area was a focal point for the kids of an evening.

Fabulous summer break

Located 5mins off the A1, fabulous for walking or cycling Grafham Water. Added bonus of outdoor heated pool in summer months at no extra charge. Resident owl never ceases to amaze - he's huge & lovely. Another bonus for the ladies - Cath Kidston factory shop is just 10mins drive down the A1 - bargains!!

Great site

Visited with our 6 and 4 year old daughters. We all had a great time.  The site itself is well kept but feels a little cramped compared to other places we have visited. This however did not pose us a problem.  Swimming pool was a plus and although the air temperature was cool the pool was warm enough. The play-park was adequate and a great focal point for the kids. Great location to visit with Grafham water on your doorstep. There are plenty of walking and cycling routes and we visited Huntingdon and St Ives which are in easy reach. The area has a lot to offer and we will visit again.
