Lovely site lovely location

Just had a long weekend here, really enjoyed the site, the scenery and able to park the car up for three days and just walk into the village. Site is large but being split into 3 areas makes it seem smaller, wardens were very helpful and friendly. Hawes itself has lots of good eateries and tea rooms, oh and the creamery with it's tasting room, be prepared to buy lots of cheeses... Loved it so much at this site we booked up again for a long weekend in August.

First trip out 2015

Good site clean and peaceful, didn't like the narrow roads to Dent/Sedburgh - went for weekend but will be going back for longer hopefully.

Perfect stop on way south

Lovely site in a fantastic location. I stopped off on my way south from the north of Scotland. Perfectly located within 5 minutes walk from the village of Hawes and its multitude of pubs. A very friendly welcome from keen and attentive wardens. Will definately return for a longer stay to be able to enjoy the local area.

Favourite Site

This will have been our 6th visit to the site. Twice for New Year. We love the location. Convenient for a stroll into Hawes with lots of pubs to chose from providing great food. Friday was sunny so after lunch we set off across the fields for a walk to the Green Man. Lovely old pub , which is up for sale or let. Hope its character is kept. We walked back on the main road.  The next day we set off again for a walk.  Not quite so sunny and cold,  but was rewarded by coal fire in the Fountain. And of course a swift drink. The weekend ended all too soon. The car never moved from the pitch. The journey home is just as rewarding through the north Yorkshire moors. We are lucky to live so near to an area of natural beauty  We will return and I am sure we will receive the usual warm welcome from the wardens who keep the site spotless.

Great site well located

Fantastic stay for a few nights, great walking area. Within easy walking distance of the village centre. All the facilities are maintained to a very high standard. Nice welcoming wardens. Nice large pitches.

Great New Year

After spending Christmas 2013 here we decided to book New Year this year. An easy journey to the site due to little or no ice/ frost/ snow on the roads. First three days were lovely, cold but bright and some sunshine. Things got a little wet after that but it is the Dales so we do expect it. Lovely walks all over the area, an easy walk into Hawes and The Crown Inn in the centre is our favourite. Very friendly, love dogs and a biscuit is always offered when you enter ( for the dog of course).  Food at The Crown is exceptional and if you are thinking of Christmas dinner book early they were fully booked by July this year. The site and staff were as usual really friendly and helpful. The site immaculate and the wardens never stop working. Another super holiday

New Year 2014 & 2015

We enjoyed our stay last year partying with fellow caravaners in the games room so much that we stayed again over the New Year to party into 2015! Again, this site is wonderful, with good Wardens who put on a great party night, but who also take pride in looking after the Hawes Caravan Site. Its location is great for a short walk into Hawes or a quick car ride to Wensleydale Cheese Farm - well worth a visit which also has an excellent restaurant serving wholesome foods with fair prices. Love this site and yes you guessed it, we have already booked to celebrate 2016!

Back Again

So we returned again to see in the New Year. Stayed 29th Dec to 3 Jan. As the wardens know too well I love to complain. Unfortunately try as I may I could not find anything. Drat. They all worked so hard to give every one a good party for New Years Eve. What a good do and great credit to them. Thanks Again

Lovely Week In November

A very late review! We stayed at Hawes from 15th November 2014 for a week. We had a service pitch which was in a nice circle away from the other pitches. The toilet block was very clean and the wardens were very friendly and helpful. The dog walk is a field which is fab. The site is a 5 min walk from Hawes which has lots of lovely cafes. It is only a 15 min steady walk to the Wendsleydale Creamery which is well worth a visit for lunch in the resturant and to buy lots of cheese. The rope works is interesting and free, they were very helpful and made a dog lead up to our requirements. All in all a fab holiday with lots of places to explore.
